I’ll be in the market for a new car before end of Q1 and my BMW lease have 4 payments left, high level checks makes me believe I have some equity and I don’t want another BMW.
My options is going to a BMW dealer (I don’t think they’ll be helpful) an autonation dealer (i think they’ll be more helpful) or autoninjas, which I have seen people like a lot to get deals, but can’t find reviews on selling leases.
Has anyone used it? Is it as good as it sounds? Do they pay the bank and lessor timely? Any feedback? They don’t explain in great detail in their website how it works, just that it’s like carvana (photos, offer, in house pick up, and they do BMW leases.
If you are selling your lease then you need to get as many quotes as you can and sell it to the highest bidder. Use any and all available sources like local dealers, bigger chains like AutoNation, and any of the LH brokers that offer this service like AutoNinjas.
And there really isn’t any reason to assume a local BMW dealer won’t be helpful. You are inquiring about selling your car to them, nothing else. Most dealers now have specific sections of their websites dedicated to this, you can fill in all your details, some will ask that you come in while others will make you an offer sight unseen.
I agree assuming is not great but when I tried to sell my lease 3 years ago they really gave me a hard time, I was able to get one to let me roll over the equity into a new one, but no dealer wanted to cut me a check.
Autoninjas look great, but I’d liked some firsthand reviews of this process and I can’t find any.
TBH, i have not seen lately any BMW or any other luxury car lease having positive equity by the end or close to the end of the lease.
Did you check your payoff vs offers from 3rd party dealers?
I really want to be mistaken.
Let us know.
I got an online offer from autonation and it’s around 1K higher than my payoff, I think I can do a bit better shopping around, I was pretty honest. I am realistic, I am not looking to cash out big bucks, just get out of it without paying and hopefully pay a bit of the new car DAS. Car is well under mileage.
My payment is “low” because I rolled over the equity from my previous car into the lease. That also help with the payoff.
Well, mathematically lower payments increase the delta between the payoff and the value, that’s what I meant. As I said I don’t expect a 10K check, it would be greatly welcomed, but we’re derailing of my question that unfortunately I am still not getting an answer
Auto ninjas look legit and their website explains very well the leasing process but not the selling process hence I was asking for some feedback from hackers!
Well there’s a review thread for most every broker on here, I would start there as there are a number of reviews of members also selling their cars to AN…
