US Bank lease return - windshield

,

Hello - I am soon returning my Wrangler to US Bank. It’s pristine except the windshield. I getting the windshield replaced, does anyone have experience or know if US Bank cares if it is OEM or whatever Safelite uses. I’ll be using insurance ($100 Deductible) and they don’t cover OEM.

What brand of car? If BMW or Merc, oh yes it better be.

Does it have Heads Up Display? If so, then it’s required to be OEM for that to work I believe

Get it inspected first and find what they charge for a windshield, might be cheaper than replacement

Jeep Wrangler. Standard, old fashioned windshield

glass can be VERY expensive. That old flat junk on your jeep? You can find it in a junk yard

Bruh,

You need to get a new life. I read your posts on this forum and they are all negative.

Like this one, you don’t know this guy from adam, and he asks a legit question, but you feel the need to crap on his car and call it junk.

From your posts I get that:

You hate your industry
You hate your customers
You hate leasehackrs
You hate surveys
You hate your neighbors

It really seems like you lead a miserable life. Why are you even on this forum if you hate the community so much? I mean we are the bottom of the barrel bottom feeders. Not worth your time.

But I do get a kick out of your misery sometimes…

I normally agree with you on this…lol…that’s why his logo is ‘sad star’

But this time he posted something correct, if a Wrangler, there is a good chance he could find a replacement at a junk yard and pay someone labor and sealant

A jeep wrangler is a relatively flat wind shield. compared to MB Audi Volvo or anything with a HUD it is relatively easy to replace.

Since jeeps dont really change by generation and have REMOVEABLE WINDSHIELDS it is really easy to replace.

Was the junkyard idea serious? If so, the time that would take is not worth the savings
I thought it was a reasonable question about lessor expectations. Not sure why so snarky/asshatish - regardless of which supercar you drive. I’ve enjoyed my Wrangler a lot and will likely get another one.

Bro relax…hes just trying to help you find a cheap windshield. I think you got the misery part confused with aronchi lol

US bank is super petty when it comes to lease returns. JL’s have been around since 2018 they are easy to source parts for.

Since it is a wrangler your $100 deductible is probably worth it.

At a Min the AutoVin inspector is going to hit you up for at least $400 on a windshield crack.

remember his rates could go up with a claim

true, but he didn’t ask how to get it cheapest, he asked if OEM from his insurance company would work. If it had a Heads Up, it wouldn’t. But it’s a Wrangler, so it won’t matter.

I did like your recommendation of going to a junk yard, but since he’s using insurance, that’s his choice.

Perhaps I misread it. Still not clear on my question, but thanks for all of the suggestions.

Maybe you missed the part where the OP said he had a $100 deductible on his insurance, but they won’t cover OEM. I don’t think a junk yard is worth the hassle or will be cheaper than $100. I think his only concern was that it is not OEM.

So if Jeep requires OEM, junkyard may be an option, but no need to call his Jeep windshield “flat junk”. That is an unnecessary insult, and it shows his bad attitude from his miserable life.

A drunk driver once rammed his truck into our parked Ford Focus and drove away. He destroyed both passenger side doors (front and back). I went to the junkyard got two doors and replaced them out. The car was as good as new.

I personally took “junk” to mean that it’s a very cheap and simple windshield That can be procured anywhere which it sounds like it is, going from the other replies in here.

Also a $100 deductible is nice until your insurance rates skyrocket up after a claim.

That’s exactly how I took it, too. He was not saying, as far as I could tell, that the car itself was “junk” or inferior in any way.

Also make sure your monthly insurance doesn’t skyrocket after your windshield replacement. In FL they tend to rise when they replace it.
