Thank you everyone for your awesome responses! @VirginiaBeacher I took your valuable advice, did some homework then asked for 15% off. @trism thanks for the laugh @joeblogs the dealership manager said that what I was asking for was considerably lower than what the market dictates and that what I was asking for was even lower than any employee deal.
This was the dealershipâs âbestâ offer with the max MSD which is $3800. Shouldnât the payment be closer to $390? Not sure why I was quoted a 2020 model when I was inquiring about a 2019. Would love to have some additional feedback or advice. Thanks again and I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday weekend! I promise to keep updating since hopefully the information will help others.
I am in the Raleigh, NC area with tier I credit and I am interested in leasing a vehicle for the first time. The vehicle I am interested in is a 2019 Lexus NX 300. Safety features, remote start and heated/ventilated seats are a must. I reached out to the local Lexus dealership in June and got the attached quote. I am very grateful for all the valuable advice I received and politely declined the offer. Well, now the dealership manager has reached out and asked if I could give him âwhat it will take to put a deal together, he will do everything he can to make it happen.â They even said they would drop the vehicle off at my house to test drive if I didnât have time to stop by the dealership.
I have since been reading up on the forum and based on my notes I should be looking on a target discount of 10-12% off (invoice or MSRP?) before incentives. 36/12k, zero DAS, max MSDs. I want my total payment to be less than $400 month and ideally would love something closer to $350.
So, based on this information, how would you respond to the dealership manager? As always I am so grateful for all the awesome advice and I promise to post the details when I get a counteroffer or make a deal.
Is this any different than your first post in June?
Loose the Nitrogen.
Post in Edmunds to get the base MF, Residual, and Incentives available for your zip:
Ask the dealer for the MF, Residual, and what incentives are in the quote he provided? Request that the MF be base as you get quoted in Edmunds. Look into doing MSDâs to get the MF even lower.
I mean youre in Raleigh and its the end of the month, I would email all the dealers around to get the 10-12% off MSRP BEFORE incentives, base MF, MSD (if you can do them). Ask for 15% off MSRP and accept the percentage off you want.
Use CarGurus.com to find the NXâs you want around (even 200 miles) to get the best deal. Remote start can be added by the dealer and you can get it added in the end.
I was able to purchase a 2020 $45,268 MSRP for 12.7% off msrp car had been there 3 days. I would definitely go in aggressively on the 2019s. The 2020s have been out since June.
I absolutely love my $1,500 laser headlights on my ES. I know it sounds , and if i were being frugal theyâd be on the chopping block. But damn. They light up the road, now. You can allllllllllmost call it a safety feature, if youâre into justifying first world pleasures.
The way they sweep up and down when you start the car at least reminds you where that extra $$ a month went
Well ask them about the 2019 model and the mileage is not what you wanted. Ask them what the MF is on the SUV. Push for the 12-15% off the 2019. Be firm and move to the next. Might be worth the drive to get the extra discount and base MF.
Here is what I received from the dealer today. Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated. Even though I have what I think is a pretty good understanding about leasing from this website, I was really surprised at how confused I was by this dealerâs leasing quote (sigh). I tried to fit the quoteâs numbers into the calculator and I was unable to get the numbers to match up, not sure what I am missing. Very glad though to at least have found this site, without it I might have just signed and been satisfied with a monthly payment that was within my budget #HackrHeros!
