Turning in Mercedes Lease Early: Payment Made

My Mercedes lease is due early February. I just paid the December lease payment. If I go into the dealer and lease a new Mercedes (turn in current car)- what happens to the December payment which I have paid? Thanks in advance.

It went poof

A Mercedes dealer (for new lease) said he can ask MBFS for a refund? Any Mercedes dealers here?

I would focus on the overall deal more than this single payment if I were you.

This sounds like a variation on ā€œWeā€™ll take care of your remaining payments,ā€ which typically means theyā€™re coming out of the discount on your next car.

I just leased a 2025 Mercedes - however, I already paid the December lease payment on the 2022 Mercedes. The lease ends in the beginning of February. The dealer gave me $2k loyalty credit on the 2025. The dealer told me I could keep the 2022 and turn it in at end of December since the payment was made. Does anyone think thereā€™s an issue with keeping the 2022 until then if I just leased the 2025?

In my case last month payment was refunded along with the pull ahead credit covering the remaining payments.

The dealer told me that they wouldnā€™t refund the payment already made

Why would there be an issue with keeping your current lease through the end of the term?

Unless Iā€™m missing something, a loyalty incentive typically just requires you to have another Mercedes in the household, amongst other things. There is no requirement that you must also turn in your current lease. What if your current car was financed or fully paid off?

There is a ā€˜pull ahead incentiveā€™ where you get to turn in your Merc early. OP was hoping to use that and get a refund of 1 payment (because pull ahead is 3) but the dealer told him just to make the last 2 payments.

Gotcha, wasnā€™t clear that it was a pull ahead. Ultimately it depends on the specific terms of the program, and if there are any requirements that the car be turned in at the same time (or within X days) of leasing the new car.

But I really wouldnā€™t overthink it, OP if youā€™ve already made your December payment and the dealer said you could continue to drive it to the end of the month, then I donā€™t see any issue with that.
