Turning in a leased car late

Anyone know what the penalty is for turning in a car a day after the lease termination date? Carmax agreed to buy my car. Its not a ton of money, but covers the disposition fee and I get $200. Yesterday they asked me to call Toyota Financial and give permission for them to call and get the payoff amount. But they apparently got busy and by the time they called, they were closed. Now my due date is tomorrow and they are saying they need to call to get the numbers. So if I just wait until Monday, I wonder how much Toyota financial will charge me for being a day late…

i can’t speak for Toyota in particular but up to a week has never been a problem. I always tell them that i’m waiting for the dealer to get back to me on a new “Toyota” (in your case) and you needed the extra day(s). I typically call the finance company and tell them and they usually offer the grace period to me and they note the account.

Infiniti gives a 7 day buffer without penalty. I’d imagine Toyota would be okay with one weekend.

Ford gives a 10 day grace period to turn in the vehicle. After that you are charged an additional months payment. Turned my C-Max in 9 days after the end date with no problems. Didn’t replace it with a Ford either.

awesome, thanks everyone!

On this subject, if you have your alloy wheels redone in black for example, should they cause a fuss on returning the car. Assuming the wheels looked perfect.

Do you guys know what is the late turn in grace period for BMW?
