TRX Purchase Questions

I’m thinking of purchasing a TRX tomorrow for 5K over sticker. Do you guys think these will hold value and remain rare? I want to sell mine in 3 month and try to get sticker or what I paid. Anyone think this is a decent idea or is it risky? I would lease but it’s over 1500

Depending on your state and if you are trading for something else, you may end up losing sales tax on already over sticker sales price.
To me, it’s risky. But that is the name of the game these days

Always risky spending over sticker on the TRX.

I don’t think it will be a rare collectible, but I do think it’ll be “rare” in general. Mostly because of how high it’s priced it is in the first place. I think the designated market for this truck is older generation guys with lots of disposable income.

If you want an idea of how an off-road rallye truck will go for, look at the raptors. The depreciation curve may be slightly worse now that there is actually competition for the trucks.

You will pay another $7-8k in taxes if you are in SoCal which will put you at $12-13k over sticker for 3 months of ownership. Keep that in mind also.

I am in Michigan

Is it a launch edition? Those are limited to 702 units. The “regular” TRX is not production limited so that may be a risky decision.

I think it’s best I try to find a Launch. Those are going 20K over sticker so it’s hard to match the price I’m getting for a launch and almost all are spoken for.

I didn’t even know what it was, looked it up. Dropping $5k over sticker on an FCA product sounds like winner for worst decision on leasehackr for the month. I’m trying to understand what one does with a pickup truck with 702hp? But hey if you want to light money on fire, go for it. :dollar::fire:

Left over Raptor would be the financially wiser decision, but it’s underpowered at 450hp

The point doesn’t change. You’re still paying tax on the purchase price… and for 3 months of use?

Ha, I didn’t even see that part, stop reading after $5k over sticker. Yeah like @max_g says, good luck selling for sticker and breaking out even or ahead by the time you throw 7% or so in tax

I just realized his username is probably short for BitcoinKing so any rational advice is probably moot.

So let me get this

You want to buy an FCA product over sticker, not even the limited edition ones, then flip it for sticker, and come out ahead after taxes?

You sound skeptical to me.

Well I’m sober and had coffee. If he’s got money to burn (or crypto), and understands what’s going to happen who the hell am I to decide how someone else lives their life.

If he truly decides to buy one though, he should hit up jd81, he’s got one at sticker to sell, saving the 5k.

There’s gotta be some kind of Baja/Desert running experience package one could buy if they just want to have some short term fun. It would probably cost less than 5k too.

I’m sure he could, driving a bmw very fast for free settles my itch for felony speeding, but I’m not the BTCKing.

*disclaimer I have holdings in monero.

Even doing this multiple times, including flights and accommodations would probably be more cost efficient.

Okay I’ll admit that kind of looks fun.

It’s especially fun when you don’t have to worry about repairs, maintenance, warranty, etc. I’d be really wary of any used Hellcat, Demon, TRX, what have you. Unless it’s crazy low miles you know damn well that someone beat on that thing, especially if there have been multiple owners.
