I’m shopping for a Volvo and autobytel shows the list of incentives which includes a “Truecar In-Market Targeted Conquest Offer” in the amount of $750. Does anyone know how to get this offer? I tried building the car on TrueCar and they just offered me the usual dealer coupons, and not the $750 offer. Thanks.
I asked this earlier too, and for my region it’s $3000. One of the local dealers told me that it has to generate a specific number (the PIN number on the dealer coupon). I wouldn’t be surprised if it was visible only to the dealer (so that the dealer decides how much to give you).
Anyone with actual experience want to chime in?
I think I misinterpreted the phrase “in-market targeted conquest offer” to mean that it was regional. I’m not sure but that appears to be wrong. But the local dealer here said I needed a PIN that started with “J” and when I signed up on Truecar, it connected me to a different dealer and a different pin code that dealer #1 said he couldn’t use for the incentive (autobytel lists it as $3k for the V90CC that I’m looking at). Truecar is very annoying, I wouldn’t be trying this hard if it wasn’t $3k.
Thats bs it isn’t by region its by car. Its essentially giving you A-Plan, grab the code and negotiate with the dealer.
S90 = 3k
All others = 750
So, Truecar doesn’t list it explicitly, but generates code when you submit your info? Then it explains my question about 12% discount shown by Truecar.
Anyone without a-plan - rejoice!
It looks like that “Guarantee Savings Coupon” includes the A-plan pricing. But, only the local dealers selected by truecar have access to the pin?
Do we know whether the Truecar conquest stacks with the A Plan bonus? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the info and ideas, everyone. Just got back from the dealer and they said it was either the A-Plan bonus or TrueCar discount, but they couldn’t do both. Not to say there isn’t a way to do both, but that’s what they told me. I went with the A-Plan since it also caps the doc fee at $100.
Just wanted to pass along what my local dealer said (so not 100% verified). The Truecar In Market Targeted Conquest Offer is something that Truecar sends out to selected consumers (an email or letter with a PIN). The consumer then takes that PIN to their local participating Truecar dealer and then the incentive kicks in.
Again, just what my local dealer told me so I can’t 100% vouch for its accuracy. But it seems like this incentive may be hard to get for most folks.
They are the same offer so no.
Was your dealer savings deeper than the standard 6% A plan savings? The dealers I have been working with have charged their typical 599 doc fee with a deeper than 6% A plan quote.
Yes, the savings was greater than 6%. They did charge their standard doc fee and claimed to know nothing about the $100 cap when I pointed it out to them. Luckily their fee isn’t that high.
They offered to refund the amount of the fee that was over $100 if/when they could confirm the A-Plan policy on doc fees, but I haven’t yet called back to haggle. During signing I showed them the page on the A-Plan website that explains the cap, but that didn’t convince the dealer.
They have to make money somewhere, so when they are discounting below 6%, it might not matter if the money shows up as doc fee or as an additional cap cost. (Though maybe it affects the sales tax calculation.)
