Truck lease advice - 2022 Tundra vs 22 F-150

Looking at leasing either a new 2022 Tundra hybrid 1794 edition TRD or a 2022 Ford F150 Platinum or Limited. Both trucks have their pros and cons, but the residual value is much higher on the Toyota. I do like the Ford a little more for some of the better utilities it offers, but the trade off is a much higher lease payment due to the RV. Has anyone had experience with either of these trucks and any suggestions to work out better lease numbers on the Ford? The Tundra seems to be coming in around $800 a month with $0 out of pocket, work for a dealer group so can avoid markup and fees on it.

Thanks!!

No one can offer you anything constructive just based on the monthly payment.

Start by posting a link to your best attempt at the LH calculator.

You’ll need to go to the forums at Edmunds to get MF, RV and any lease cash.

  1. Go to: Forums.Edmunds.com

  2. Click on make & model dropdown menus to find the appropriate thread.

  3. Sign up or log in.

  4. Make a post asking for your specific model, trim, AWD/2WD, etc with your zip code and the desired lease term in months and miles.

Alternately, you can try the Lease Program Query tool on the Leasehackr Calculator, available to Super Supporters.

Is the Ram out of the equation? They have some pretty solid truck month deals going right now and most lease programs can be locked on an order.

Contact @Clutch or @DistrictCars and they can likely point you in the right direction.

Yeah Ram is definitely out of the questions. Thank you though!

Are you getting the Ford on D Plan? If not, any chance they will take XPlan?

I’d need to see if I would even qualify for those plans, forgot about those. Is there a way to find out if I qualify?

D ? Your dealer you work for has to give you a code?
X ? Check here . https://www.oxmoorflm.com/ford-a-x-z-plans/x-plan-partner-companies X can also be gotten at the Mustang club, but I don’t remember cooling off period.

I’ll check if they can get me one, our dealer group has a Ford dealer but on the other side of the country. Our stores here are just Honda, Toyota, CJDR, and GMC.

I’d buy the Toyota and then resell it after a few years/recoup all of your money. If a $50k truck has $5k in depreciation and $5k in tax/title/registration, after 36 months you’d only pay like 270 a month when you resell it for 45k.

If you have patience you can order a Ford from Chapman (Philly), Koons (DC) or Granger (Iowa) for around 5% under invoice. This typically beats X plan by a wide margin. Will help the ford lease payment alot

If he gets D-Plan, then its the best.

That’s what I was considering because of the resell value!

I’ll reach out the the Phill dealer since they’re closer.

I don’t think Chapman Ford is 5% below invoice I believe it’s 2 or 3

I believe Chapman is currently doing full MSRP iirc.

Really, because it sounds like you were leaning towards ford.

I wouldn’t buy a ford at a significant discount. Idc if it has been “the #1 selling pickup” for how many years. There is a reason Toyota releases a vehicles and sells it for decades, with little to no changes.

IT WORKS. I’m so tired of this GM/GMC/Chevy/Ford/etc that releases the “latest and greatest” and it’s all garbage. Yet, people continue to buy.

They at 3% below back on jeeps someone posted that yesterday I believe

Ford is 2% below besides raptor/gt500 from what I see on the ford forums

News to me. They were offering a significant discount, then dropped to 3% under, then went to full MSRP.

I do like the Toyota for that reason.
