Toyota unveils its secret and surprises the world: New combustion engines, but zero emissions

I keep thinking that Toyota’s strategy of hybrids over EVs will eventually payoff if they can leapfrog technology at some point. It’s paying off in the short term with EV demand leveling off, but they play the long game.

Marketing hype or another step forward?;

Is Toyota paying for these AI articles in a desperate attempt to slow EV adoption? Is this them desperately trying to maintain complexity in powertrains? Their competitive edge seems to be perceived reliability and efficiency, they have the most to lose if every car has a simple EV powertrain where reliability isn’t such an issue

Hydrogen ICE do not only produce water vapor; they will produce NOx as well.

And hydrogen continues to be an energetically idiotic way to fuel passenger cars. Locomotives, no, just run wires over the track like they do in Europe - the trains work better, too. Mayyybe semi trucks and airplanes.

There are way too many EVs and not even buyers for them, which is why almost everyone is giving them away.

Hard to blame Toyota for wanting people to desire the cars they produce.
