Tow hitch on QX60 2015 vs 2019

I have a 2015 QX60 that’s coming up on the end of a lease. I paid to have the OEM tow hitch put on. Planning to get the 2019 QX60. My question is 2 parts.

  1. Is the 2019 compatible with the same tow hitch from 2015? Are these difficult to put on, including harness?

  2. What would happen to the lease return? The car didn’t come with the hitch, but does removing it leave a visible hole in the bumper? Is there an easy/cheap fix or is it an expensive bumper replacement to the point that I should just leave it on there?

Thanks in advance!

Does removing it leave a visible hole in the bumper?

I took a closer look at it today and it looks like it would just leave a missing gap for where the hitch connection was.

  1. better to check on infinit forums maybe cause compatibility is tough issue.
  2. dont they sell a cover for those? Which u can maybe put on.

My question: how much did it cost to put the tow hitch on?

You can get a new one installed for around $200.

I would leave it on then. Too much hassle.

did the dealership where you got the car put it on?

Yes, but we no longer live near there so we got the new one from a different dealership.

I think I’m leaning towards just buying the factory one for $200 or so (plus the harness and fascia). It looks pretty easy to install.

why are you getting the same car again?

Why not? Shopping for a luxury SUV that has similar features (driving aids), is relatively quiet, has a decent and usable 3rd row, and has a price point in the $300s/month with a zero drive off. Not sure what else out there would qualify.

Do you mean $300 with zero down or zero DAS (Due at signing)

Not sure what the difference would be. I didn’t put anything down in terms of a down payment. I also rolled in everything into the lease (reg, fees, etc) instead of paying those up front. The only thing I “paid” was strictly MSDs, which are obviously refundable.

Also, not $300. I was asking generally what other car would be in the $300s ( as in $300-400) that is similar. Even a Highlander (which I don’t consider to be in the same class) was coming out to be more expensive. Lexus, Acura, etc were far more than $300-400. So I guess those are my reasons for reupping on the qx60. Process of elimination (we did shop around on other models).
