Live in FL, bought the Atlas R line V6 W/Tech 3 months ago, MSRP was $44500, bought for $35000 plus tax/fees in VA, Carvana offer $40,850 today, would pocket about $4500, thinking of selling it but replacing for the same price is impossible at the moment. Any lease ideas for the similar size vehicle? Must be 6/7 passenger. Have the 4xe Rubicon and Fiat 500 Abarth as fun vehicles, need this for the family
Are you looking to get rid of the atlas because you don’t like it or because you’re hoping to come out money ahead here? I think you’ll find that almost all of that $4500 golden egg is going to have to turn right around and go back into the elevated market price on basically any 3 row suv.
Love the Atlas, the space and the toys, yes i know it will be almost an impossible task replacing it, but that’s lease hacking, the challenge, although in today’s environment could be an impossible task
If you’re doing it just for the thrill of the chase, knock yourself out. Just understand that you’re trying to push a gigantic boulder uphill and you’re unlikely to come out in a better financial position at the end, even starting $4500 ahead.
I agree with @mllcb42 . A few months ago in the height of the equity bubble, I researched trying to get into another similarly equipped 3 row SUV because I could have gotten $8k equity from my 2020 Palisade Limited. Unfortunately, no deals are to be had and in order to get the same pay, almost all of tht equity would have had to been used, basically making it a wash.
Just stick with what you have now and enjoy it.
I made $6K selling my Palisade and leased a new one back in March. Tried doing it again this month as I have about $4K equity again in new car. Couldn’t get within $100 a month of my current payment.
VW gives different buyout amounts to 3rd parties as a heads up (spoiler: the equity will vanish)
Only way to do it is buy it out yourself or try to sell it to a VW dealer
