Tires on C300 for lease return

Hello all. I couldn’t quite find the answer I was looking for so my question is as follows:

I know per Mercedes’ website that the tires at lease end the tires should match the existing in speed rating, size, and load rating. Mercedes also writes that:
*If you plan on replacing the tires on your vehicle, you should visit www.mbusatirecenter.com to locate the appropriate replacement tires for your model. Additionally, please note that if your vehicle came equipped with run-flat tires, the replacement tires must also be run-flats.

My current tires are Pirelli run flats 225/50r17 94H and on the mbusatirecenter.com site I saw that Bridgestone Drive Guard tires in 225/50rf17 94W are considered appropriate for my vehicle.

I found a set of Bridgestone Drive Guard on eBay for a cheap price with the speed rating of 94W. My question is seeing as though the current Pirelli tires are 94H and these Bridgestones are 94W, would this pass inspection considering the Bridgestones are on the recommended tire list for my vehicle?

Thanks

!

It’s about rating, they’re rated higher afaik, so you should be fine. However, check your lease contract for specifics on tires, requirements, etc.

Used tires of the same or higher spec should be fine.

Yeah you’ll be fine with those. Just make sure the eBay tires have enough tread left and that they are RF

“If you can swap”? It would be illegal for them to mandate that you buy the same brand AFAIK.

Much appreciated!

Yeah, that’s comparable to them mandating you using their MB dealerships for repairs. No go.

Improper language, and format, my fault.

https://www.bestusedtires.com/ this site has been mentioned before

Those run flats are stupid expensive. My new tactic is to get a fart car unicorn and ditch it(offer for transfer) when the tires are still good, no disposition or tires to buy, or wear and tear! Definitely doing that again if I get another Bimmer

So the Mercedes Benz lease contract actually states that the tires must be replaced with tires of the same original manufacturer or else charges will apply. Seriously!

I used craigslist and got a different brand. I had no problems.

Main thing is to make sure they’re run-flats.

On a Mercedes lease return?

@max_g @joeblogs???

Yes a Mercedes return in February 2020.

Clearly the OEM themselves direct you to a website where you can choose from a number of different tire brands.

Thanks max_g, just paranoid after hearing horror stories. Nothing is specific or helpful in the lease contract document or MB website.
