Tips to obtain a SUBARU under MSRP

Unc never knew the Subaru and machine gun crossover - always thought it was a golden retriever mobile or LL Bean crossover

$2000 lease cash, $2100 in dealer cash. I think Chase is still the lending arm for Subaru and their MF/residuals are pretty aggressive. I think the sticking point may (as usual) be the dealer discount.

The best way to obtain a Subaru for under MSRP is with…

Is there a lot of movement to get rid of 2025 stock? I don’t apply for any incentives and subarau’s don’t really depreciate where I’m at.

I’m blown away by the pre-negotiated deal that Auto Companion just nailed for me on the 2025 Forester hybrid premium (base model). All in, first month payment DAS: $245/mo before taxes, $338/mo after these high-ass Illinois taxes. 36/10, Msrp $39.1, discounts and rebates of $8660 (22%), residual $21.9, MF .00015. I didn’t think it was possible after all I’d read about Subaru.

That’s a very good deal

10% pre-incentive plus 4750 in incentives, plus a super-low MF makes for a great deal. Enjoy in good health!

Never Dealt with @AutoCompanion . Is this replicable?

I have a friend that would be interested.

I used Autocompanion for my Volvo. They were great!

I have not used @AutoCompanion for Subaru but I have used them a few times in the past, nothing but great things to say about them and their dealers

AC is running a pretty good WRX Premium CVT lease rn. $8,300 in total discounts.

Anyone drive the CVT in the WRX? I’m watching EE and he is waxing poetic about it, Might consider it to replace my Tesla M3.

They’re all TR690s, which is what was in my 22 Outback (my WRX was a 5-speed)

TR690

  • 2010–2012 Legacy/Outback 2.5L NA
  • 2015–2019 Legacy/Outback 3.6L NA
  • 2014–2018 Forester 2.0L Turbo
  • 2015–2021 WRX 2.0L Turbo
  • 2014–2020 Levorg 2.0L Turbo
  • 2019–present Ascent
  • 2020–2025 Legacy/Outback 2.4L Turbo
  • 2026–present Outback 2.4L Turbo
  • 2022–present WRX 2.4L Turbo
  • 2022–present [Levorg]> (Subaru Levorg - Wikipedia) 2.4L Turbo

It wasn’t the worst CVT I’ve driven but combined with Auto Start-Stop (ASS) it was an easy decision to sell after a year. Do not miss.

You really have to drive for yourself and decide.

I think the tuning is supposed to be different in the WRX version but yes they generally suck. I’ve never driven a CVT I enjoyed.

Your homework: go to a Subaru dealer and drive

  • an Ascent
  • an Outback Turbo
  • a WRX automatic

Preferably in that order - and report back.
