Thoughts on this 2018 Range Rover Velar R-Dynamic HSE P380 Lease Quote

I just got this quote for a 2018 Range Rover Velar R-Dynamic HSE P380. I was hoping to take advantage of the low MF for this vehicle. But this money factor markup seems ridiculous. Thoughts on how I should respond?

MSRP 96145
Sales Price 93145
Money Factor 0.00101
Resid 56%
Money Down 2059
Rebate 2000 for Conquest
Monthly Payment 1359.09
36/10k

Probably want to start by telling them no, then going here and contacting the guy towards the end.

Did you laugh in their faces? That’s gotta be like $15k they’re making on that deal.

Another quote for 2018 Range Rover Velar R-Dynamic HSE P380

MSRP $87,801
Sales Price 84,511
Money Factor 0.00051 (base is .00001)
Residual 55% (shouldn’t this be 56%???)
Due at signing $2,000
Conquest cash $2,000
Monthly Payment $1,175.05
36/10k

Thoughts?

At least they’re giving you numbers, which is more than I can say for the GMC dealers I’ve contacted.

I am not faring any better:

msrp at $65k
lease 39/12k
$705.51 1st month payment
$4743.55 total out of pocket.
$2705.54 is sales tax
$895 is bank fee
$705.51 is 1st payment
rest is dmv charges(plates and reg)

msrp $84k
2018 se r dynamic velar
36/10k a year
$1202.80 with $1640.30 total out of pocket

They not giving me mf/rv #s, this is just copy and paste from what they sent me.

Got a quote for $1175.05/month for a 2018 Velar R-Dynamic HSE P380 V6. $2000 due at signing for a 36/10k lease, 55% residual, .00051 MF (I’m in Texas). They didn’t give me much of a discount off MSRP so I want to counter their numbers with the following. Is this doable?

I’m trying to take advantage of the low MF on this vehicle (.00001) but they said they won’t negotiate below .00051. If that’s true, then I think they should come off the MSRP more. Any advice/tips are appreciated.

MSRP $87801

  • less 5% discount
  • less $2000 conquest cash
  • less $400 AMEX dealer incentive
    Sales price $81010.25
  • add Taxes $5063.18
  • add other fees, etc. $666.11
  • less down payment $2000
    Adjusted Cap Cost = $84,740.24

Already did. Didn’t find anything comparable. Looking for opinions.

Hi Jeff,
I am ordering a RR Velar tomorrow from Park Place in Grapevine Texas. I noticed your quotes. What did you end getting the Velar for and I noticed AMEX discount what is that? I built a R-dynamic SE 4-cyl for 72,430. I would love to keep the same options but upgrade to the 6-cyl. I want to put down the 2K and I want my payments around mid to upper 8’s. If its better to talk that would be great.

Good luck with those guys. I feel like I called every dealer in DFW (Park Place, Grapevine, Audubon, Dallas) and they were all huge dicks. Weren’t interested in working with me at all. Sent me crazy bids for like $1500/mo-$1600/mo. When I pressed them and sent them a counter using realistic numbers, none of them even bothered to reply. Well, except for 1 guy who basically told me to go take a hike. Lol

I went on their national website and found a couple cars that had all the options I really wanted and I reached out them, regardless of the state. I ended up getting my car out of state and they shipped it to me at their cost. So good luck man! Hope you have better luck in DFW than I did.

Oh yeah, don’t call anyone in California. They can’t sell/lease cars to people in Texas for some reason. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

2018 RR Velar R-Dynamic HSE P/380 6-cyl

I’ve contacted all the dealers in Dallas and even surrounding big cities and these just don’t lease well. The best I’ve gotten is around 1.08% of MSRP or something like that. Have not heard of this AMEX promotion, which would help. Any more details on how you got that?

Add Jaguar/Land Rover North Houston to that list of terrible dealers. Awful sales staff and managers.

Do you mind sharing the dealership you worked with? I am doing an order but I also had a bad experience with Land Rover Dallas/Frisco but they guy at Park Place seemed helpful but we weren’t at the negotiating stage. I don’t want to order from someone who is not going to give me the bang for the buck.
