The Slow Demise of Mitsubishi

Just a little rant here.
I wanted to look at an Outlander PHEV (I know, EWW), and went to MitsubishiCars.com and found the closest in Costa Mesa (10 miles)

So I went there and found this

That Year End Sales Even was for Jan 2nd 2024 and a 2023 Banner and a Summer Event poster.

And a Sad parking lot with 3 whole cars with Summer Paper Plates on them.

It appears that South Coast Mitsubishi is no more. Yet both Google and Mitsubishi list it as open.

So Mitsu has gone so far downhill they can’t even mark that their location is CLOSED?

It’s not like this dealership closed last week, it looks like it’s been closed since at least Jan 2024. In fact I think this is the last OC dealership, as the nearest ones are Cerritos and Corona and Industry

Just sad.

Sheesh that sucks, an entire dealership went completely out of business and nobody noticed

probably some crazy “everything must go” deals were signed, hopefully

There are a total of 4 untitled cars (One in the showroom) and about 15 used cars still on the lot.

you might as well take one who would notice amirite

That’s probably what the floorplan lender is waiting for. Easier to just make an insurance claim than go through the trouble of a repo and trying to remarket a Mitsubishi. And hey it’s California so nobody’s gonna investigate a theft anyway.

What’s the red car that’s in the showroom? Looks like a 2014 Lancer Evo. Mitsubishi Dealer near me wants $35k for a GSR Rally Red with like 50k miles.
