Who’s buying an out of warranty BEV for cash?
No, seriously.
Who’s buying an out of warranty BEV for cash?
No, seriously.
If you’ve seen the number of hours and services performed on my lemon-ed eqs. Just imagine how much it will cost if warranty is not paying for it. I myself won’t own one outside of warranty.
3 year old Polestar 2s with 25k miles are currently are listed for $25k. That’s $21k with the tax credit. 5 years, 75k miles for me to play with, more than enough.
Assuming the battery dies at exactly 8 years 100k miles (I think unlikely), that’s around $4k/year or $300/month to own a PS2, with total cost of ownership dropping even further the longer that it lasts. People have driven Teslas for far longer than 8 years/100k miles.
When you account for savings alone of electricity vs gas across 75k miles, even if I completely write off the car in year 8 I’m still coming out ahead, especially against luxury sedans requiring premium gas.
And this is all assuming battery replacement costs don’t go down.
Nobody wants an EV in places where there’s no EV infrastructure. You posted a link to some place in North Carolina. It’s not a very EV friendly state yet.
Not to mention EV technology is rapidly changing, along with the range.
Even here in California, the infrastructure isn’t 100%. But people are beginning to get into purchasing EVs because the range is hitting the 300s.
Which is why I prefer to get one off lease with just scheduled maintenance. If it’s good for 12-36 month on lease, it should be good for another 5 years. I may be wrong however I believe a non-lemon Benz EQ will be more reliable and cheaper to maintain than ice one.
For those of you taking delivery of the Lucid Air’s now and within the last 2 weeks, have you been noticing quality issues and glitches ?
A friend of mine took delivery at 11 am yesterday and right after leaving the lot had to make a U-turn due to “front camera fault”. They fixed it with some update and he was driving home approximately 30 mins in and the infotainment screen froze on him.
Just curious if others have noticed similar issues.
2023 or 2024? I’m hoping even though the deals are worse that the 2024’s are less buggy
Lol I like how you posted this in the landfill instead of the Lucid lease superthread. Oh wait, there is no Lucid superthread. Carry on.
@z0lt3c Lucid-Mania deserves more than a landfill and fractured posts in Signed! threads.
His is a 2024.
Yeah i didn’t want to spook everyone out cause maybe its a one - off case. I have second friend who has now put his deal on hold cause he is worried due to the case of the first friend
There were quiet a few who took delivery. I am still delaying it a bit. Would pick it up on the weekend.
My front drivers side door would not open. It was unlocked, the other doors worked, but not that one. I climbed in the passenger side and everything else has been fine.
You cant be serious lollll
The Lucid superthread is here:
Nah, the Lucid Mania is being discussed here. How come nobody’s merging? C’mon man!
Because I don’t want to spend my time on a bespoke platform manufactured at unsustainable margins and backed by dirty Saudi finances without any kind of competitive service or charging network in the US. It’s a flash in the pan, they are one bad news cycle away from being Fisker. Go whack one of the THs that have bought in.
Lol I thought you liked all EVs. Even the Ford Focus EV or S10 Pickup EV or the Aptera thing.
I want to know when Rivian-Mania will kick in…
@Ttxi … the landfill beckons.
I haven’t even signed mine yet. It’s been a painstakingly difficult process over the past 2 weeks. Pickup is finally scheduled for early next week.
I do think EQ’s and Lucid’s should have separate landfills though.
But you can sit a person in Lucid’s frunk.
