Did anybody else receive a call from “Tesla Trading” about a special offer to trade in their car? Are they just trying to entrap resellers or seriously trying to buy back cars they just sold a day ago.
I didn’t get any calls. 
I recently got a text from my Tesla rep about trading in my old Tesla for the new one which is coming next month, I thought it was just a standard text they send to everyone if they already own a Tesla
Are we saying Tesla delivered next month would have the radar sensors?

I have an order for a white MYLR7 with an EDD of mid Jul to mi Aug. however, I have a local Tesla center willing to switch my order to a current showroom car - emailed them on a whim asking if they have cars. I likely will actually keep my order but get this one as well. Once the order car comes in I will sell one (not taxed on EVs so won’t lose any money). Few questions:
- I ordered white, this is black hence an extra $1500. If I sell it soon, will the resale value be the same between white and black? Or does the color factor in at all? This will help decide what to keep.
- Should I expect any discount on a showroom car with essentially no miles?
- They said one door has a large scratch and they will have to buff it or replace the door. Would there have to be a damage disclosure on the car and hence a discount?

I can’t answer the other 2 but they seem to discount about $.30/mile for demos from what I’ve seen. If it’s for less than 50 miles I have not seen any discounts.
Assume color adds $0 to the value. It might have incremental value to a private buyer, but not a dealer.

Base model S is very rare to find in drops. Almost never.
Second to only the X in terms of rarity
I got my Model S from a drop in February, paid for transport from MS to NJ.
I agree they are rare, but they can be found.
You are the only case I’ve heard of a base model S drop. I think you might live in Tesla’s inventory software.
Never alot of them, but it’s definitely become even more rare since Feb.
Perhaps coincide, but this kinda lines up w/ the head/tail light refresh.
My Model S still has the old lights, it will be an oddball.

I have an order for a Fisker Ocean in but don’t expect that for 6-8 months or so.
If i’m able to snag a M3 in the meantime to use for several months, do you guys think it’s better to purchase/finance then sell it or lease and then swap it?
if this is a terrible idea altogether, i’d also love to hear. thank you
