Tesla Ordering Tips - And Most Other Reasonable Things Tesla [but no more]

By that definition, the IS is a brick too. You can sell it, buy a bike and put the rest of the money in the bank.

Everything that’s been said applies to a Ford MME and other EVs too.

Mind as well get the performance so you don’t get buyers remorse when a soccer mom in a Model Y smokes you off the light

Appreciate the input from all. Let me think this through the next couple of days.

ā€œSomeone convince me not to buy this carā€ and everyone did the opposite.

Because you didn’t say it had a $1200/mo payment and you put $3k trade equity into it.

Don’t buy this car. Get a Mirai instead

You don’t need this car and you can wait until the fall to decide. Teslas are like iPhone… constantly being updated.

If you have ADD car addiction like most of us here… BUY IT NOW!!! DO IT!!!

Would Tesla build quality, sound isolation be worse than my Niro EV Premium?
That’s what stopping me from converting.

Becoming ineligible for the credit next year + free charging at work = good reason to get an EV this year.

What that EV should be, comes down to personal preference.

Yeah, that’s a point that I agree with.

Based on the EV market though, I feel like the TM3 is the best bang/buck.

For reference, I drove a 2016 golf with about 80 miles range for a few years. My round trip commute to/from work is 60 miles a day. So I should be able to get the cheapest model 3 and have more than enough range.

I wouldn’t get a current Model 3. A heavily refreshed Model 3 is about to be released in a few months.

What if the price of that is much higher?
What if there’s a wait time for it?
What if the first deliveries of that one are in 2024 when OP loses the 7500 credit?

What I am trying to understand is, why is waiting the way to go.

Yeah new version of TM3 does not interest me due to increased price. I like deals. Current TM3 looks like a deal

BTW, I ordered a Model Y for someone but then put that on hold this week and ordered an M3 from inventory that I’ll pick up this Friday for the listed price of $37830.
The M3 after destination fee (1390), Registration, Fees, and Taxes cost $43105.

The person I am getting this vehicle for qualifies for the $7.5k federal and $7.5k CVRP. Making the final cost around $28k.

Although I hate that the Tesla loan APR is a bit high, and with a minimum downpayment ($3385), it comes out to be around $650/month for 72 months.

Waiting for the new M3 did not make sense to me.

Greetings all, my buddy is considering the purchase of a 2 owner, 17k mile '22 Model X Plaid w/22s, carbon fiber decor, six seats, yoke, auto pilot, full self-driving capability and tow package for $97k. Could you pros shed some light on the MMR and whether this is a good deal. Cheers.

Why wait? Buying an outdated package right at the end of lifecycle…depreciation. Everyone on this site is always so concerned with MMR.
