MMR is a wholesale valuation calculation based on recent results from dealer only auctions. When it works out right, it represents the dealer’s cost to acquire the vehicle. As such, one can expect trade-in offers to be lower and retail ask to be higher, as compared to MMR.
My favorite is when folks press for KBB Excellent value on a trade… Even reconditioned CPO cars rarely reach that standard.
i know what i have !
quick search found one in no time

I know what I have and how rare these cars have become in manual within recent years.
Im seriously considering this. This puts the model 3 at 30k give or take with the 2k discount in california. Effectively making this cheaper or equivalent to a camry or accord .
Not that Tesla doesn’t manipulate inventory or anything…
What I think will really move the market.
#1 Cybertruck.
#2 Project Highland.
#3 HW4 and FSD price reduction.
#4 V2G charging.
What’s that?
Model 3 update coming in next couple months.
If I wanted to get a model Y, does the original route mentioned still work if they don’t have my build in inventory?
Im really contemplating purchasing a M3 at the moment. This is the last year I would qualify for the $7500 so I’m trying to take advantage of that.
But the thought of having a 40k brick sitting in my carport makes this sound like a financially irresponsible choice. Right now I’m driving a 2007 IS250, paid off, only reoccurring cost is gas at around $220 a month.
Someone convince me not to buy this car.
Do you have home charging?
If I qualified for the 7500 and the 2000 (again) I would buy one
No one can foretell the future. However if you are going to replace the IS within 2 years, you’ll probably look back at this moment and see the trifecta of low purchase price + tax credit + high water mark for the resale value of the IS.
If you are going to hold on to the IS indefinitely and well into the future then forget all thoughts of the 3, and never look back.
I don’t qualify for CVRP anymore (already received this rebate twice). I don’t do home charging, but I charge for free at work.
Use the IS for longer road trips/commutes and enjoy the M3 around town (or Supercharge for more distance).
As long as you are not a 16-year old niece… YOLO!
I would get one too if I qualified for the $7500 credit, but I can’t stand the thought of paying $7500 more than almost everyone else
That’s a lot of time and money spent on gas, so the IS does get driven. So why would its replacement become a brick sitting in your driveway?
If you charge free at work and plan for the next several years at the same job
What are you waiting for?
-220 x 12 = 2640 savings plus no oil changes
In my head, if the money isn’t in my bank account it’s essentially a brick to me.
Lol you die and someone else spending your money YOLO
