Tesla Ordering Tips - And Most Other Reasonable Things Tesla [but no more]

MX Plaid market has just completely fell apart. Down almost $12K. You can now buy from Manheim, like new unit for below MSRP. I’m gonna convert my MX Plaid orders back to MX Long Range which is holding value much better.

Hmm what’s the long range look like? I’m surprised the model 3 LR fell so much. Seems everyone is thinking electric or buying now.

Tesla Finance Rates just went up by 0.25%

Neither one of those are Plaids

Leasehackrs are flipping 200 a week to them …

your point is valid in that X plaids have no wholesale value, because they plummeted by about $10k over the past week, but i’m not sure either of those above are plaids. maybe i’m wrong. LRs look worthless now too - one did 122.5 last week, which i think is just about or below msrp, depending on config.

Who are the current best third party buyers on these? Have a MY LR 5-seater with title in hand.

BTW Thanks @z0lt3c for the Mmr info.

@Clutch got me the highest offer for my Model 3. This was in California.

@AutoCompanion and @stellarauto both gave me good quotes on M3 LR, east coast.

The answer - hit them all up. Otherwise there could always be that one out there that could have given you a couple grand more (or less). All these buyers have different sales and opportunity pipelines which constantly change. The best buyer last week could be the worst this week.

Just as an example, GMTV may have paid really well to buy inventory last week, but they may have taken a beating at auction. May just make them gun shy this week, while carmax may still offer solid numbers. Simplifying of course, but you get the idea.

If you’re putting in an order now on a MY - EDD is into next year…but how long can you semi-realistically keep delaying delivery beyond that? You think into 2024? Like can I do a 24 lease on another car now and time it where I get the MY near the end of the lease?

no, it’ll arrive sooner than EDD most likely. unclear how long you can keep delaying, some people have delayed several quarters though

I was reading on Tesla forum that 7500 credit might not fully applied to M3 RWD because of Chinese battery. M3 LR is more then 55k so wont apply on that either or Tesla decides to drop the price to 49.9k on M3LR.
So Dems find a way to stick to Musk. GM seems like a winner.

Model 3 battery packs are made in China by CATL. So it will not qualify. Tesla is one of many brands that will not qualify as the proposed bill is written today.

Basically if the vehicle and battery pack isn’t produced in US, Mex, or Can…it doesn’t qualify.

Even if the EV meets above requirements, if the battery pack has more than 40% of its minerals not from Canada ,Mexico, South Korea, Chile, or Australia…then $3750 gets wiped away.

Then add in the price caps of $55k for sedan, $80 for SUV.

This bill wipes out credits for many Korean, Japanese, German, British, Belgian, US made EV’s.

Are any Model 3 or Model Y batteries pack are made in USA, Mexico, Chile, Canada .

So in the end Tesla not getting full or even partial credit. If the bill passed today with no modification.

I thought Tesla has a Mega battery plant in NV and TX…

Rumblings around the internet believe the Y should qualify under a SUV as long as it stays under 80k.

But does Y battery qualifies for the full 7500 rebate?
If its made in China then i guess not.

Model Y new 4680 cell batteries are made at Giga Texas.

Supposedly it’s not set in stone that a Model Y would qualify as a SUV.

If it do qualify and its a Big IF then i am sure Musk going to add atleast +5k on currentl msrp.
Believe they going for like 70k no options.
