Tesla Ordering Tips - And Most Other Reasonable Things Tesla [but no more]

and I’m 6’3

Are you able to detach your head and place it in your lap? I’ve heard people 5’6"-5’7" can’t sit in the 3rd row without their head touching the glass.

As long as no one next to you being around 6’0 to 6’1 you can lean a little. But being a third row mine in hellcat Durango was cramped a bit. I didn’t expect that to be roomy. But the back seat in the X the seat is much lower your knees are higher and head is super close. The back seat in the Y the seat is higher you have more leg room and head room.

Surprising to hear the 3rd row in the X is more cramped than the Y.

X is easier to get into but pretty much only useful for children.

The 3rd row in MY is a joke. I’d rather the trunk space, and Deff not worth 3k

Sorry i meant the third row in a MY didnt seem as cramped to me as the second row in a model X.

The gullwing door cross member at my height is right by my head.

Finalizing the loan on my MY7. At 1.99% for 67 months. Do I need gap? First car I’m financing (lifetime leaser) so wondering about the following offer:

The loan to value of the vehicle is at 100%. I would highly recommend the GAP option.

The payment protection options are:
$389 for GAP. This will cover any unpaid amounts the insurance company won’t provide to cover the loan amount if the vehicle were to be totaled. This includes the deductible the insurance company will take out of your check. This also includes $1,000 towards the next vehicle loan you do with us if done within 120 days of total loss of this vehicle. (sweet deal!) With the loan on the vehicle, the MAX amount you can have for deductibles on comp and collision are $500 each.

Keeping the car a year or so While waiting for the leasing market to cool. Thoughts on if it’s needed?

Are you buying it to keep it?

Prob a year max two till the leasing market gets hackable again.

I wouldn’t worry about gap insurance then.

Thanks.

Don’t teslas hold value really well. If totaled, likely not upside down because of this vs a car that depreciates quickly?

I think this is the real question. Where are you getting those rates from?

With a little help from a delorean anything is possible.

Haha! In early May right before rates increased I locked in my approval. My EDD was end of May (wishful thinking ha). I kept in contact with the CU (Allegacy- they are great btw) to update on when the car is coming. Maybe that helped to lock it so long? Who knows but I’m lucky!

God damn, how are they getting 200 a week…

Tesla market is down big this week. Performance models are down $2500 (see my previous post)
Not a good week to sell, suggest you hold until the next MSRP increase.

I got a model y performance due in soon. With this current offer I make 5k, last month would have been closer to 8. It’s a model3 lR that I ordered two price hikes ago.

TLDR: FSD trick still works. My MYLR 7-seater is finally here after 9mos of wait.

Added FSD on 7/21. Received VIN on 7/26. Removed the FSD after VIN. No issues. I financed with my bank at 3.69% for 60mos. Took ~15mins in total to get finance in place. Could have done better with CUs recommended on this forum but I figured it doesn’t really worth the effort to jump through all the hoops to save $15/mo (would definitely do that before I became a parent!!).

Delivery was originally scheduled on 8/1 but saw on the other thread that the $750 CA Clean Fuel Reward will be paused starting 8/1 so I called Tesla to have the car delivered today.

A few small issues such as slightly loose plastic trim, smear on interior trim, and uneven gaps between the A pillars and windshield (this can potentially be an annoying issue). Overall, I’m just glad the wait is finally over and I don’t have to check my EDD every morning

Any change to your order would have had the same effect. Congrats.
