Tesla Model 3/ Model Y Lease Reductions for Leasehackrs!

I absolutely hate my Model Y

Cheap interior, uncomfortable seats, noisy cabin, horrible suspension, features that are missing(blind spot monitor indicator on the mirror, no CarPlay, no HUD) or are working badly (auto wipers). Much less air vents than other cars and stupidly placed(right behind the steering wheel), auto-pilot that is actively trying to kill me at least once per day.

I do like however that Tesla Superchatgers are everywhere and work reliably and that I stopped caring about gas prices

I would trade it for a Lexus ES or RX in a heartbeat.

Wow, good to know. I’ve heard similar complaints before, but that really drives home just how annoying all that would be.

Yes coming from a bmw 5 series, I was really surprised how a supposedly technologically superior Tesla doesn’t even have a functioning auto windshield wiper, blind spot warnings, hand free tailgate opener and 360 parking camera.

It’s not that bad…you get used to lack of HUD pretty quick. I also think carplay is a crutch for legacy automaker shit infotainment. I think Tesla infotainment is way better than CarPlay. Other than not having Waze, Tesla’s Spotify and music integration, search capabilities, text message capabilities, nav search/gestures are way better to use than CarPlay. Software updates are fun to and nice to see your car improve over time.

I was never a fan of the way the model y drove. It feels like an unbalanced model 3 with 400lbs of crap in the back

I did hear the Xmas software update adds blindspot camera with red indicator if a car is in the way. All the rest though is mystery why they wouldn’t have those implemented.

A Waze-like feature or two is being added via the Xmas update. I could just use Waze on my phone with it mounted to the upper left of the display for now. A cool idea I saw in a YouTube short was to use an iPad. The model he had propped up with the magnetic cover for a perfect fit below car’s display. It looked cool, but i’d rather have it up closer to my field of view. Maybe mounting and iPad mini too the upper left of main display would be the ideal best of both worlds if it can be stowed in the center console before exiting the car.

who uses hands free tailgate openers? Those kick to open features that the germans have are terrible. You look like so silly trying to use it trying to move your foot all over the place. Takes like half a minute to get the right kick stroke and location lmao. I think that’s a dumb feature that i’ve never used, i’m glad tesla doesn’t have it. 360 parking cam isn’t a big deal as it does have cameras over the rear wheels and auto tilt for the mirrors in reverse. In 4 years I never curbed a wheel.

I do miss Waze, but I rarely drive fast enough in an EV to worry about cops. Usually do no more than 75 to conserve range on longer trips.

Have had them on several vehicles, never once used them.

Useful for me when getting groceries with both hands occupied. 360 camera makes it a lot easier to park straight with equal spacing on each side. Not just for preventing curb rash.

Almost everything other than being able to move is nice to have. But they are things you would expect to be there for cars at certain price range.

My current Acura RDX lease is set to expire in May 2024, but I have the option to exit early and receive cash. I’m currently considering whether to take advantage of a 24-month 10k mile lease for (MY LR) now or wait until next year. The current incentives, along with the 6-month supercharging offer, make it quite appealing, and the cost seems to be comparable to my current lease. Do you think it would be a worthwhile decision?

Additionally, I noticed on the website that it mentions “lease after probable savings” as $605 ($705 before probably savings). Does this figure factor the gas savings, or is it just factoring in the $7,500 tax credit? Trying to understand how much I would actually end up paying each month.

If you select ‘lease before probable savings’, you should see the price you’ll pay before taxes. You can even click on the pricing box and toggle to “Incl estimated taxes and fees” to see the actual monthly lease payment. I just picked up an M3 over the weekend and found the calculator fairly accurate. Do check the inventory around your ZIP; most inventory M3s are discounted right now, as Tesla wants to hit year end targets. Also, a new M3 is likely coming in 2024 (already launched in Europe). I picked a car right now due to the discount.

Lastly, if you use a referral to order, you can get 3 months of full self driving. DM me if you need a referral link. Best of luck!!

This Model Y rear wheel drive has a $5,730 discount off MSRP which brings the monthly lease to $479 including CA tax with $2400 DAS for 36/10:

This does not qualify for the $7500 federal rebate. Long range better deal if you qualify for the credits.

I’m just going off what Tesla’s lease calculator says.

My understanding was Model Y is the only Tesla for which all variants qualify.

X is LR only, 3 is Performance only and no S qualify.

Not based on Section 45W cutout of course, which exempts the disqualifications.

Point of sale 7500 rebate is now available for qualifying models. Dont have to wait till end of yr anymore.

If you click on Fed Tax Credit eligibility requirements on Tesla site. The RWD Model Y qualifies only if it is a 2024 model year. (for cash/loan purchases)

Don’t all Model Ys qualify if it’s a lease? I think that’s the difference. They all qualify for a lease but not purchase. Lease requirement for EV credits are different.

That is why I included what is in the ( ).

Demo Teslas do not qualify for a lease. New language on Tesla’s site says 2024 MY rwd can get the full credit. 2023 MY rwd lost that credit last month if purchased via cash or finance.
