Fully free public charging or just at work?
If its public that is worth quite a bit at 15k/yr miles and still way more than $50 if its at work only. Charging in public is not cheap (its less than gas but not by much sometimes in some locations).
They are charging you close to retail and pretending to sweeten it with “free FSD” what a fucking gimmick, especially with the payback clause.
Just get a regular non-employee lease with no FSD and no payback clause.
Do I need more than 10k? IDK, Currently (two people, one car), we’re doing more than 10k/yr. Hard to tell how we’d do with tesla: mileage will be split between two cars, but I’m afraid we’d take tesla for most trips: cheaper on gas plus EV.
I would not treat FSD as “Full autopilot” but I see some value on highway/low intensity driving.
0 down/15k miles was referenced as “most expensive” variant for standart RWD car.
I agree on extremes: super cheap RWD and Performance looks like best options to me. Employee kickback is the best for RWD of course.
Free charging is at work only. Will cover driving around, but not long-distance trips and I’m ok with that. I’d roughly estimate EV will cut gas/charging expenses in half and charge-at-work will cut it in another half (quarter?).
They charge retail, pay back 1/2 of monthly intrest and FSD costs (if you get one with FSD).
There’s no “payback clause”, rather than Employee benefit that covers FSD and 1/2 of interest.
1/2 of intrest brings price from 300 to 230 (standart RWD) or 650 to 500 (Performance), around ~30% off monthly.
Free FSD brings your monthly and employee benefit higher: resulting price stays the same.
So you would end up paying marginal tax on all these benefits? What is that for you? 34% taxes on your “savings”?
Hm, good point. From what I understand it will be taxed twice (instead of once): income and sales tax, which is worse than a discount.
Not that terrible, since I’ll pay the same for all other lease (and not) options
