So picked up a jeep from Mitch in late December and the temp tags expired. Keep calling dealer but its like playing phone tag. Mitch has moved on so cannot really contact him. Seems like plates been issued based on looking online at DMV. Any suggested course of action in this situation? Its not even for me the jeep and is for a close friend so now I feel like it is on me to find a solution.
The easiest resolution is to visit the dealership and they’ll resolve the issue. Dealers sometimes send plates through UPS/Fedex so the dealer may be able to track your plates with the shipper tracking number.

Ny dmv is crazy slow with out of state deals. We’re having issues with them as well and a couple people got cars impounded in the city. It’s a mess
Usually they’re done in 3-6 weeks and temp expires in 30 days. Nothing you can really do if all the paperwork was submitted but wait for dmv to process it

In NY send an email to your NY statehouse rep’s office they seem to do pretty well is getting DMV to get things done. DMV was blocking an online account for me and DMV tech support turns off their extension so that when customer service transfers you it hangs up. One email to my rep and I had online access in 24 hours.

Thank you all. They overnighted the plates. They had been delivered to one of their other dealerships i guess.
