Telluride Lease Deal

UPDATED POST ON A REPLY

2025 Kia Telluride EX Line
MSRP: $48,600
Mileage and Terms: 10K for 36 months
Monthly Cost: $409

$3499 DAS (the below)
Cap Cost Reduction: $1780
Acquisition Fee: $650
First Month Payment: $409

RESIDUAL VALUE is 69% ($33,541)

Sales Tax and fees not included but estimating around $2048.

Side note: This does not reflect the above seal yet. It’s without it. Current Kia has a residual value of $22,500. Local dealers resell similar car with milage between 28-30k. I have positive equity so I am going to try to get them to clear the cap cost with the positive equity or lower the MSRP with it.

Thoughts on deal? And yes I know cap cost reduction at $0 would be better.

This sounds like an advertised Kia lease rather than an actual offer from a dealer. How much of a discount from MSRP? Anytime you see a deal with a payment that ends in $x99 you know the dealer has room to negotiate because they are just advertising a payment.

Not exactly sure where you are saying in your side note, but it appears you have a current Kia that you plan to trade in. Get an offer from Carmax or Carvana and use that as leverage with the dealer. You really need to figure out how much this lease SHOULD cost before setting foot into a dealership, otherwise they are going to take advantage of you.

I actually just updated their latest offer to me. Can you please take a look. Thanks.

As for the sidenote disregard it.

Can you include the actual number in your DAS and not like some estimate/footnote?

Sorry i cant edit the post anymore but this is the DAS.

What is the actual sales price for the vehicle? If they are only giving you the payment we have nothing to evaluate.

MSRP is $48,600
Selling Price is $43,800

You are getting a 10% discount off MSRP, so this looks like a pretty good deal compared to what I see on Auto Ninjas. If this is the vehicle you want I don’t see a reason not to do it.

Which is the better deal for a Kia Telluride?

-SX AWD for $445 w/ 10k miles at 36 months with a MSRP of $50,005 and selling price of $45,504 plus a residual value of $34,503 (69%)

-EX X-Line AWD for $409 w/ 10k miles at 36 months with a MSRP of $48,610 and selling price of $43,800 plus a residual value of $33,541 (69%)

-S AWD for $389 w/ 10k miles at 36 months with a MSRP of $42,710 and selling price of $40,236 plus a residual value of $30,751 (71%)

I would pay up front $4800 which would cover a small down payment aka cap cost of $1750 plus acq fee, doc fee, dmv fees and sales tax in NYS.

The money factor is approximately around .00226

So which is the better deal? Any? None? Can I do better? If so where?

THANK YOU!

Well, you are in NY and I’m going to assume that zero Kia dealers have a Telluride S FWD in stock or in transit. All of them are going to have AWD unless someone majorly screwed up and ordered a FWD SUV in New York.

Having had a Telluride you should also consider buying one.

If you project what’s gonna happen after three years, if you lease again, if you count up all the payments over six years for very little equity, I don’t know if successive leases are worth it.

As far as trims go, the SX is the sweet spot in my opinion. The EX is also a really good value without the X line package. The X line package is a waste of money IMO.

So in this case the SX is the better deal?

Yes sorry I meant AWD. Which would you say is the better deal of the 3?

Look, it really comes down to which one you want. The S AWD has the smallest discount but the lowest payment. That does not make it the best DEAL. Pick the vehicle that suits your situation the best. Don’t fixate on the $4800 down unless the MF is very high. The lower the MF the less I would put down. Put the rest into a high yield savings account at 4%+ interest.
