Not sure if buying, or leasing makes sense. i know this cars are problematic, but i kind of want one. lol.
Ideas? maybe find a cheaper one? found another with 25k miles but wasnt a CPO was a 2022 used on other dealer for 48k + TTL. On 67k i could i get a 911 as well. But i really want a cool EV. not just another Tesla, or a bricked Lucid(really like the air). So going between those 2 numbers, there’s only a 19k difference for 2 years ownership. But if i lease this one i’ll be paying 37k.
So better to buy the 2020, and put an extra warranty not from Porsche since it won’t be a CPO?
I want to be responsible doing an irresponsible thing? if you know what i mean. HNW, could buy in cash, but prefer leverage/viewing this a monthly cost, and actually enjoy the car, pray there’s no major problems, and if there’s some. - Have it covered.
I saw 1k/month lease deals around here before.. so 24k for 2 years kind of makes sense since it would be regular depreciation. but i guess there’s no rebates right now, and even this is a Porsche, still think the best way to look at this EVs is just like an Iphone, no more than 2-3 years ownership. and not buying new/ first gen w/o some miles on it.. unless you want to pay “early adopter price” was about to lease a gravity, but lots of horror stories.
Buy a CPO, especially a 2020 or 2021. Lots of small gremlins and issues that can pop up on these.
Also, some third-party warranties will not cover the shop rate at a Porsche dealer. Most Porsche dealers charge $300-$500/hr, and a third-party warranty might only cover $150/hr-$300/hr, leaving you to pay the difference. Or you can buy the warranty directly from the Porsche dealer, and they will cover the labor rate difference.
As a Taycan lessee. They are great when they work. Mine has constant battery overheating issues, have switched chargers, taken to dealer and they haven’t figured it out. They also have an annoying issue with wireless carplay where it will randomly disconnect with the slightest amount of interference.
Definitely Lease, you do not want to be in this car outside of warranty period. The bills would just be insane.
There are better deals out there. I got my 2023 base model for 24months 12k miles CPO 5.8k miles on the odometer; at $991/month with just taxes and fees due. 4s is gonna be more, but still think 2022 with 18k miles is high for that price.
a cool fried eggs . lol idk. But i work on tech, so i’ll prefer an iphone on wheels, that is not exactly a Tesla.
Last sports/fun car i had was a MINI JCW, so want something that drives like that or better, but electric. Nothing beats the convience of charging at home. Have a 3row suv PHEV. and want full electric now.
