Swapalease or Leasetrader

Any opinions as to which has the best success in selling/ transferring a BMW lease?…thx for any advise

most folks hit up SAL first, seem to get better results there. But both about the same and their websites could do with redos :joy:

Hopefully you know we also have a Private Transfers section here on LH that you can post your BMW on as well!

Swapalease just recently redid their website and it’s really bad. It looks better, but the functionality is poor and it appears to have many bugs. That said, it is a little cheaper than Leasetrader and has more cars in my area than Leasetrader does.

I used Leasetrader for my iX because I liked the fact that you paid half up front so if the vehicle didn’t sell or I cancelled the ad then I didn’t have to pay commission.

Swapalease followed up with me and once I told them I posted elsewhere they offered me a discount, but I didn’t want to sink more money into the process.

I eventually got two serious buyers and was able to transfer the lease.

Be aware that BMW doesn’t allow lease transfers with under 6 months left to go.

I’ve had better luck by posting my old leases on craiglist for local transfer.

Similar to this (I also posted on Craigslist but didn’t get much), Facebook marketplace + promotion has been by far the best for me and is where I found my current transfer person. You get a LOT of garbage contacts with people who either don’t understand what is happening or would never qualify to take over a lease, but I did eventually find someone.
