I don’t advocate fee evasion but really, what a stupid business model. There is no incentive for buyers to pay a fee - they can go anywhere to lease. It is the seller who needs to dump the car, so the sellers will gladly pay a listing fee just as they do when they actually own the vehicle. People actually pay $59 for a membership just so they can view deals??? Unbelievable.
The one-time membership fee is to obtain contact info not to view the deals. We usually run promos over-the-phone so those who call in can ask questions and save a bit on the buyer’s club membership. Since we are a national website and not in office 24/7, the fee is always just $59.95 online.
After getting a decent discount from @Swapalease.com , I tried it . At least in Fl the listing was not accurate . I saw a very good deal on RX350 , but when I got my account and contact the seller , He told me he already sold the vehicle.
I tried most of the good deal , one of the problem was you can only get 10 contact and then they you have to contact support to reset your counter! Unfortunately most of them were in pending or already sold but they are listed as available, , some of listing did not have proper information , for instance thislisting ask for 3150$ down payment to recover his MSD , or this one dose not know the trim of his vehicle , but he did not mentioned it in the ads as down payment , most of the seller do not share basic information like RV , Rent charge or MSRP and sales price and they asked me to contact their Rep in swaplease, which I did and never get any answer.
I do not know how much they charge for listing the vehicle, but at least they can make listing more accurate .
that’s because it’s irrelevant, you can’t change the terms of the original lease.
As for the accuracy of the listing, they are filled out by the person listing the vehicle, not SAL so if they’re not providing all the info it’s on them not SAL.
I appreciate the feedback here. It would be amazing if we could just use a VIN decoder to autofill of the vehicle information. If you have even a bit of “car enthusiast” in you, you would be surprised at what people don’t know. “What kind of car do you have?” - SAL Rep “I’m not sure, It’s a Ford and it says FX4 on it, so it’s a Ford FX4.” - Client. BUT, as a buyer, it’s always a great thing to do your due diligence. Try setting up email notifications and also saved searched so that you can get your hands on the best deals listed first. We are working on better ways to keep the listings accurate and current. One of the problems we have is that the private seller is out of our control. Sometimes they find a buyer and they move on and forget about us. It’s not fair to the buyers wondering if a vehicle is available.
You are right , but even they do not share the MSRP , it seems there is a miss understanding between seller and SAL, they think their agent is responsible for providing this info , because it seems they helped them to post the list . BUY It wold be great if SAL force the seller to put some useful info like MSRP and RV in their listing
Thanks for response , I think the platform is great but it need some more feature and Updates, I do not like the way you can search ,and made my own search ( http://www.swapalease.com/lease/search.aspx?zip=3208&minmilesper=900&minmo=2&maxmo=33&distance=500 ) to weed out Dealers , but as I mentioned lots of cars there than was sold 3 weeks ago and they are still available in listing . Also Since this is a paid services, I expect to get accurate information, I agree some of the people do not know the trim of their car , but SAL agent can get their Contract and check it .
