Live in northeast and looking for second car… budget up to 800 a month… need car for very low miles < 10,000 a year. Value is more important to me than cost. I’ve seriously considered everything from a new x5 to a 2018 camry. I am struggling.
Live near ocean with somewhat mountain ish back roads. Would like something that would be good for newborn.
Am i better of buying cpo given i don’t drive it very far or should i lease something new and have turn it in after 3 years and move on. I like turnkey and just want something that’s easy and works.
This is going to be your choice. You’ll hear people tell you to lease, lease, lease. You’ll get others to tell you to buy a CPO Honda and drive it into the ground.
XC90 probably offers the most value in the premium segment. Venza and some trim level of Highland for mainstream cars.
Buying CPO or lightly used cars is probably the worst thing to do in this environment IMO, of course depends on specific deals. But lately with some negotiation and new car incentives/lower interest rate it often ends up cheaper
Are you just looking for internet strangers opinions? Have you test drove anything? Have you looked at the countless reviews online on anything?
Everything in this thread is going to be someone’s personal opinion. You’ll get 10 that tell you to get X, 10 will tell you to get Y and another 10 to get Z. Then you’ll start to get people arguing amongst each other and this thread will ultimately end up off the rails.
What research have you done? What cars have you test driven?
Yes see this is what i am looking for. I didn’t know this existed. I’ve driven everything. Fun cars are fun to drive, boring ones are boring. The car i am replacing is a 2004 toyota highlander it was fine.
Do you have kids, and thus need more space (e.g. 3rd row) ?
If so, the Highlander is leasing well compared to other 3row SUVs.
Albeit, the new Highlander is a bit more smaller interior space-wise (i.e. 1+2+3 row combined leg room) compared to other 3row SUVs.
no we do not have kids yet …but not too far out on the horizon…some of the smaller SUVs have been so tiny once i sit in them, i’d rather have a sedan at that point.
