Suggestions for a good deal on large SUV with towing? New to leasing

It sounds like you are using this vehicle for personal use so I am not sure what the write off is for. If it’s for business you probably want to consider getting something eligible for the section 179 deduction.

Hardly anything is leasing well right now so there’s really no compelling reason for traditional buyers to make the jump.

Either wait for lease deals to get better eventually or buy something like another LC or Telluride.

Lexus GX460 or LX570.

This has already been suggested and turned down. Can’t blame someone for wanting a vehicle designed at least in the last decade.

I trust my accountant would not suggest this willy nilly.

If your accountant is suggesting that you switch to leases on your personal vehicle for tax write off purposes, you need to reconsider who you use as an accountant. Best case scenario here is that the accountant is unclear on how you’re actually using the vehicle.

Do you partially use your vehicle for business or is this entirely a personal vehicle?

Now I have no idea if that is happening here but generally speaking, a lot of people, less scrupulous accountants included, have gotten used to the current state of things in the IRS where almost no one earning under a million bucks a year gets audited due to the Agency being understaffed and under funded. The IRS has a pretty good idea of who is commiting tax fraud but doesn’t have the resources to go after them. One funding idea now being bandied about is increasing the IRS budget since every dollar you give the IRS returns something like 5 dollars to the treasury. If this happened, a lot of people who have been commiting fraud will be in for an unpleasant surprise. I’d be real careful with fake write offs until this situation is determined since 1. The chances of getting caught could go up and 2. If they catch you IRS may look back and apply penalities to prior years as well.

Apparently this is the accounting forum as well. I guess this is 2 for 1! I appreciate all of your concern but we own several vehicles for business and pleasure use and we own several businesses. I do trust my accountant and his advice. He has never suggested leasing before and has always made appropriate recommendations. I myself worked as a financial advisor for years and have a base level knowledge of taxation and tax law but I am not expert at that anymore than I am leasing. Hence why I am here making sure I get the 411 before hopping into something I know very little about.

Ventilated second row seats could come in very handy with athletic teenagers

So what’s changed?

You don’t have to be athletic to play sports but you will still sweat lol. I have ventilated front seats we used it once I think.

OP should hit up some of the brokers here, just go to marketplace section.

Don’t overlook Hyundai!

Hyundai doesn’t offer anything with sufficient towing capacity for these requirements currently. (Technically the Palisade will tow 5k lbs, but you don’t want to be towing a trailer with 0 margin against the vehicle capabilities).

Now, if the towing requirement is really being thrown out the window, it’s worth a look.

If you are towing on the regular, have you considered picking up a dedicated rig? Say Tundra, F150, Ram, etc?

Plenty of towing margin and with a crew cab oodles of space

They already have a Tundra for towing duty.

what did you go with?

Honestly, nothing yet! Still weighing my options. Plus leasing is like rocket science! I like getting a great deal (not just good) so I think the process is getting the better of me!

There are almost no great deals right now.

This is a perfect example of why you should use a Broker, they can find the car / give you a deal / and if you like it, pay the fee, if you ‘think’ you can do better then have at it, but at least you know the range of the price you will pay.
