At least they caught it fairly early into the run (2100 units) rather than later. Most were undelivered too. Unlike that BMW X1 issue that affects almost 100k units…

I read elsewhere that it is something like half a week of cars which, don’t get me wrong, is a lot and apparently the issue is a big maybe - as in, the tool may have worked fine and it might not have. They’re doing a buyback to be overly cautious.
I was also under the impression that they could repair the cars and possibly resell them once the weld is repaired.
