Subaru Legacy Lease Deal Check

Hello Everyone,

I have been looking at various vehicles as my lease form my BMW is coming up. I recently got the following terms on a 2020 Subaru Legacy Premium:

MSRP 27,901
Sale Price 25,394
Residual Value 15,067 (54%)
Taxes 1,105.05
Acq Fee 595
Doc Fee 75

For a $1,000 down I was quoted at 349.94.

For what I understand now after looking at the forums that Subarus are not the greatest leased cars due to limited incentives. I checked on the Edmunds forums and they said the Residual was 53% on this car which I thought was strange given that the dealer is using 54%. Plugging it into the calculator it seems that there is still a mark up in the MF.

Thoughts?

If anyone has suggestions on vehicles to lease under 300 with no money down I would appreciate it…

Thanks

Did you ask Edmunds for the same number of miles per year as what the dealer is quoting you?

Just rechecked. I accidently asked about a limited not a premium. Premium adds 1% so dealer is correct.

You’re an accountant by trade should be able to negotiate something nicer on a competing brand.

What is a lease but a loan after all

Subaru has terrible lease program. They’re so cheap and they offer 0apr finance specials through the year. Doesnt make sense to lease.

Try to use RODO.com and you can get a premium model for $324/12k x 36 months, just paid 1st month and drive away. Msrp 26778.

Still missing a lot of specifics to properly analyze this. How much total out of pocket is unclear? Is it $1,000 total out or $1,000 plus the taxes and fees? What was the money factor they gave you? Maybe it was through a credit union and thats why money factor was off from what they told you?

As far as the discount, besides having them give base money factor this is pretty much all the money in the deal…You are getting roughly about $600-$700 under invoice which is pretty exceptional for Subaru.

Subarus don’t lease out great, very little discount and no incentives, so unfortunately those that want Subaru have to pay up for it a little bit.

My son went from '17 Legacy Premium MSRP $26K (I know, different car than '20), to '19 Volvo S60 R-Design MSRP $50K.

His lease payment went up $60/mo. He’s at $389/mo 3/36 with only 1st month payment due at signing.

The point is: you can get much more car for much less money than a Subaru.

FYI: I’m not Subaru hater. I’ve had 7 of them.

I agree with everyone just not a great lease car. Anyone got recommendations on a vehicle under 300 a month with 0 due at signing.

Impreza, either sedan or hatch?

Hey Everyone,

I don’t think this is the best deal in the world but i do think it is the best deal on this car i have seen.

MSRP: 28,072
Selling Price: $25,798
Residual: 58%
Money Factor: .00085
Tax Incentives: $750 (Chase Coupon)
Acquisition Fee: $595
Dealer Fee: $75
Government Fee: $160
Taxes: 8.75%

$1000 DAS $313 per Month

I was looking for a $300 DAS $300 per month but decided to pay a little more for something i wanted. Wanted to see what everyone thinks

Probably not a ton of meat left on that bone. Someone here got an insane discount on a Legacy or Outback recently but it took a lot of work and there’s no guarantee it can be replicated.

Go ahead and offer $290/month, $290 DAS to at least 5 dealers and see if any bite or come close to 300
