Finally our first lease return after leasing CDJR products since 2021 
Make an appointment. Take your car to your CDJR dealer. Tell them you have an SFS Financial return. Dealer rep enters their system. You receive the email below. Don’t leave the dealer before receiving this email. Click the link. Confirm your mileage. Kiss or hug the dealer rep if you both agree. Get a receipt. Go back to work.
I assume the inspection takes place (with a third party) prior to the return?
Yes, that is correct.
Stellantis Lease Return will call you from an 833 number to set it up.
Get the dealer rep to give you a screwdriver and tell you to take off the license plates. Get him to also tell you to go and take a photo of the return mileage and send it to him. When you point out that it’s ridiculous for him to expect you to do his job, get him to tell you “Well, you’re not buying a car from me.” You got that right, buddy, and I never will with the way you just treated me.
It’s always good to take photos. They put the mileage in that electronic form. You confirm it after seeing it in your email.
Plates will depend on the state. In FL you need to return it yourself in 30 days otherwise your license will get suspended. In CA you leave it with the dealer I believe.
NC dealer and the vehicle had IL plates. He just didn’t want to do anything. I had taken a photo in advance, but it was the dismissive way he told (not asked) me to do those things as if I owed him something or worked for him. Turned me off any CDJR product in the future.
