Stellantis Acquisition Fee

,

I’m in Colorado. I thought I got a smokin deal on a 4Xe lease. Both the finance manager and I were rushed at the end, and I just figured out that there is a $3210 acquisition fee in the capitalized cost. The question is, what is Stellantis’ actual acquisition fee on a 4Xe lease? The dealer thinks it’s $1295, but that seems incredibly high to me.

I’m confused on the sequencing. You signed a deal (with their finance manager), and the contract stated $3210 Acq fee, but then you said “the dealer thinks it’s $1295.”

Acq Fee is typically around $795 to $995. Maybe the acquisition fee has other fees rolled into it.

Is your monthly and DAS good?

Are you sure this is a SFS or CCAP lease? Is it possible its through a non-captive bank?

Sfs is $995 acq fee on these

Assuming this is financed via their normal bank, they are lying liars when they tell you they don’t know the exact charge. And if it wasn’t the normal bank, they’d be able to get this info with a quick phone call.

IANAL, but I would be very surprised if it was legal to slap on hidden fees to that acquisition fee line. Check with the state AG on what’s allowed.

I get that not everyone looks at every number when signing on the dotted line. Are you saying they slipped in an unexpected 2k+ and it did NOT impact your monthly payment? Do you have the original offer in writing?

$995 but can be marked up $1295 from what I’ve seen.

but it doesn’t really matter, on a $50k, if they discount the car 15% and charge $3k acq fee or 11% Discount and $1k acq fee, it’s basically the same thing (plus negligible taxes).

OP – what was the deal you agreed to?

This deal we agreed to. MSRP - dealer discount of $4738 - $23,100 in rebates + $799 dealer fee. I’m just trying to figure out what the Stellantis Leasing acquisition fee is for a 4Xe, because it certainly isn’t $3,210!

Did you sign for the agreed upon Monthly & DAS?

This is the problem with being ambiguous in your numbers.

You can be thousands of dollars apart because only some of the deal is detailed. Need to do either monthly and das only or every itemized number.

No. I wasn’t shopping payment. I was shopping dealer discount and fees because everything else was the same. This was a replacement deal because they sold the car that I had signed off on to someone else.

The dealer has agreed that the acquisition fee was a screw-up and will fix it. It sounds like it should be $995 or they can try and mark it up to $1295.

Not saying this happened here, but to @mllcb42 ‘s point earlier. This method would open yourself up to something else in the deal potentially being out of expectations (e.g. they could be marking up the MF, high fees, add ons, etc.).

I spoke with Stellantis and they have the acquisition fee at $1295. They pointed out thst the dealer has an issue because the deal that was submitted to them is not the same deal that was signed.

Sounds like fraud
