Hi everyone,
I’m currently looking into a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class (possibly 2023 model as well) and have noticed an issue with the steering angle—it seems slightly off, either when returning to center or in how the vehicle tracks on straight roads. There’s no warning light on the dash, but I suspect the steering angle sensor may need calibration or adjustment.
I came across an article in obdprice that mentioned Autel diagnostic scanners (specifically models like the MaxiSys series) might be able to handle this kind of reset or calibration for Mercedes vehicles. However, the article didn’t go into much detail, and I’m wondering:
Has anyone here personally used an Autel scanner (e.g. MS906, MS908, or Ultra) to recalibrate or reset the steering angle sensor on a 2022–2023 CLA?
Are there any special procedures, coding steps, or limitations I should be aware of?
Does this require Mercedes-specific software or subscription through Autel?
Any input, screenshots, or steps from someone who’s actually done this would be incredibly helpful. I’d like to confirm whether it’s something I can do myself or if I’ll need to take it to the dealership.
Thanks in advance!
