Perhaps a leasehackr no-no … but what are reasonable rates for shipping … 2k miles, 1k miles or 500?
Willing to pay a slight premium for the optioned vehicle, but then wanting to fairly negotiate a rate into the monthly.
Prices are high these days.

I have a contact at a large shipping company if you want his info. But to kinda answer your question, the miles are important but not everything, It will be cheaper to ship a car from Chicago to New York than Chicago to middle of nowhere Iowa even if it is the same distance.
Recently, I sent a few cars to LA for $1500, PA for $1350, and Miami for $1550. All enclosed from Chicagoland.

During the Florida COVID pandemic fiasco, it was cheaper for me to enclosed ship a car from Georgia and Florida to New York than it was to ship from Atlanta to Miami.
Not just that, it’s also environmental conditions in my experience.
Fix the tags, then PM a mod to re-open.
