Sorento PHEV lease deals and price

Hi all, first time posting. Looking for a deal check on the 2026 Kia Sorento Plug-In Hybrid X-Line SX Prestige AWD. Located in Rockland County, NY (zip 10956). Targeting $0 down, 36 months, 10K miles/year.

Vehicle:

2026 Kia Sorento PHEV X-Line SX Prestige AWD.

Based on the info available for May lease below, I have calculated what typically lease should be.

MF: 0.00221

Residual: 68%

Lease cash: $2,770

My calculated target payment based on $53,490 MSRP and $ 54,985 with destination fees.

Net cap cost (after lease cash, 2% dealer discount): ~$51,415

Residual: $37,373

Base payment: ~$584

NY tax (8.375%): ~$49

Target monthly: ~$600-630. Dealers are quoting around $ 770

My questions:

Is 0.00221 still the correct buy rate MF for May 2026 in NY?

Is $2,770 still the correct lease cash or has it changed for May?

What’s a realistic dealer discount % on the PHEV SX Prestige right now in the NY/NJ market?

What should my due at signing look like at $0 down?

Any NY-specific gotchas I should watch for?

Not following Sorento prices but did you have a chance to check the marketplace?
How does it compare to your target deal?
TBH i think overpaying for hybrid doesn’t make financial sense for 10k miles a year.

I think broker’s offer should be your benchmark to structure your own deal offer.
Become a super supporter to gain access to Rate Findr.

Move to a strategy of making offers.

Plug the following into the LH calculator after MSRP of the vehicle you’re looking at:

Selling price based on % pre-incentive discount found by searching Shared Deals and Marketplace sections of this forum.

RV, MF and incentives (lease cash) from Rate Findr. Add any extra rebates you qualify for (college grad, etc) under incentives.

DMV fees and taxes based on your state’s official website.

Voila! Now check the box to make it $0 DAS and offer the resulting monthly payment*

  • preferably rounded to a multiple of $5 or $10 to make yourself seem more like a normal person :innocent:

When making offers, there are two options and two options only. You either offer a specific monthly payment/das amount or you offer an entirely broken down deal. One extreme or the other, nothing in between as it leaves ambiguity.

I want stock number xxx. I’m willing to offer $xxx/mo with $0 due at signing on a 24/7500 contingent on tier 1 credit approval. I qualify for x, y, and z incentives and live in zip code yyyyy with 7.5% tax rate. If you can meet these numbers, I can be to the dealership within an hour to take delivery.

In either case, you need to know how to structure and calculate your target deal to get those numbers.

Your offer is “I will do this price. If you can do it, I will be there immediately to take delivery”. Your only value to the dealer is to be a fast, super easy, no hassle deal.

MOST DEALERS WILL SAY NO TO YOUR OFFER

That is ok and to be expected.

If you have time prepare the offer and send it to all dealers in 100 miles radius and see who wants go play the ball.
Also, if you can travel farther north especially to Rochester, there is a chance to score great deal much better than in NYC metro area.

If you do not have time for any reason use one of the brokers from LH.
Good luck.

Got Sorento PHEV 2026 SX Prestige. 10K , 36 months for $639K 0 Down, 1st month and DMV. Thanks

I hope you did not sign that, if you did enjoy new ride and come back in 24 or 36 months and ask for opinion before you sign.

Lools like he went midsize on the Sorento.

It sounds like they beat his Target, at least by $36

Hopefully his target was $600 and he settled for the 2% so he could enjoy the New sweet bumpin ride all weekend long.

Yea. It was Sorento. My bad.

Thanks for your detailed input. Only after getting your inputs and searching further I was able to get what I got (Sorento PHEV). I could have still pushed further and got it down to $600 but I think it’s the best I can get.

Regards,

Rajiv
