Some questions on an i4 Deal

Hey guys, I have been enjoying reading up on the lease stuff here, awesome community.

I went to my local dealer to look at an orange I4 that I liked, buts it is pretty high msrp for an i4 xdrive40 at 70,460. The dealer went ahead and wrote up a potential lease deal, which was roughly $2000 customer cash down, and $750 monthly payments on a 36month/7500mile lease, and I am trying to decide what to propose as a counter. They gave me the 7500 tax credit, 1000 off for loyalty, and 4500 off msrp. I tried my best to replicate this in the calculator here: Calculator Here

My questions are:

  1. Did I get the calculator mostly correct, and if so I am assuming they must have marked of the MF, as I am seeing more like a $650 payment.
  2. Even $650 is more than I really want to pay, so maybe this car is just too expensive for me. Would it be realistic to get even more off MRSP (like 10-12%)?
  3. I’d be happy with like a 65-66k msrp i4, but if I custom order one am I unlikely to get near as good of a deal?
  4. I wouldn’t mind using a broker here, but I am pretty much set on staying with Sunset Orange, as it is the color of my current 3 series that I really like.

Thanks for the help/advice! (located in Nebraska btw)

Here is a corrected calculator-
Added dealer fees (estimate)
Added govt fees (estimate)
Adjusted your DAS to $2000
They are still probably marking up the MF (or charging other fees).

Yes. Even more on a loaner.

In most cases, you should be able to find a custom order at a similar discount.

Being “set” on uncommon options, like sunset orange color, make getting the best deal difficult.

The tough thing here is insisting on Sunset Orange in an xDrive40. There isn’t even 1 left per state in the USA and as you may know, the color was discontinued for 2025.

We don’t have a single x40 in that color available in our network, although we do have an eDrive40 and an M50.

Oh, I didn’t know they had discontinued it, that’s sad. I knew I was unable to get it on a 3 series now.

Ah, so it may make sense to just put together a build code on with BMW, and then send that out to dealers and propose a lease with a good discount.

Well even though the website still shows it, you can’t order it anymore, it’s done, at least for that color.

Are you willing to take another color or does it need to be Sunset? That’s going to determine the kind of deal you get.

Oh, do you mean even right now you can’t order a 2024 in Sunset Orange?

Correct, you can’t order 2024’s anymore. The website hasn’t been updated to 2025 yet, however.
