Sold to GiveMeTheVin.com (aka GMTV): Reviews

Brokers who work with dealers who either are a GM store themselves or have one in their family of dealers is how that happens, similar to autonation

GMTV doesn’t sell new vehicles (or used ones for that matter) so they don’t get the same privileges as a new car dealer

Sold my Ford Lightning to GMTV. Fairly smooth process. They picked it up from my driveway and I cashed checked the next day. Msrp was $55k and I got $71k. Carbuyerusa was at $69k. Everyone else was much lower. Would definitely deal with them again.

I would recommend Givemethevin.
I had an excellent experience selling my 2022 Subaru to them. Vroom, Carvana & Driveway were all $6k short from the dealer Payoff figure. I got one last quote from CarMax and they were right on the money @ $26,000. Givemethevin has an offer where if they can’t beat CarMax, they give you a $100 check. I sent in an my paper work and one day went by and they beat CarMax offering me $26,200. They even arranged for the car to be picked up from my house! Once again a very easy process dealing with the Team (John, Chris, Kylee & Ed)

Has anyone had to drop their vehicle off at an auction for GMTV?

they used to offer ~$500 if you dropped it off at auction for them

They asked me too and I said no even tho it was only 45min away. They picked it up and didn’t change the deal for me. I also got to keep the car an extra 5 days.

They told me the cost of picking it up would be subtracted from the offer since they don’t normally deal with NH. It was an hour away for me so I just dropped it off.

It was a pain but I’m cheap so I dropped it off

Give me the vin- made an offer but now have gone dark - anyone else have an experience on the west coast dealing with “Nick” Perhaps another contact on the west coast that someone dealt with would be helpful if you have one. Their price was reasonable but now - no follow through -

Just sold my TFS lease to GMTV. Submitted
for a quote on Thurs and a check in hand on Saturday. Drop off office across from Metlife stadium in NJ. Super simple.

unfortunately, GMTV can’t buy Audi/VW leases at the lower buyout since they are not a contracted party.

Another positive report here. Funny company, super good people with some edge.

Easy as could be, dropped at NJ location for a few hundred extra bucks.

Still paying top dollar for Defenders, their offers track auction deal flow closely. I negotiated their offer up a bit too. So, counter them if you want.

Was about 500 miles over the appraisal clock, no issues.

I got some clueless guy there who insisted they could not buy a 4xe from CCAP

Also had a positive with GMTV last week selling them my BMW. I was able to negotiate them up about $3k. They were the highest offer out of Carvana, Shift, Carmax, etc. If you are in SoCal, you can drop the car off in Costa Mesa at their office.

Maybe a dumb question but since GMTV sends everything to auction, if you know the MMR is it fair to say you can push them to a small discount on it? Or is it more complicated?

I was paid very close to MMR for my car.

From my experience
They bought my Tacoma for $1500 over msrp 2 weeks ago at 41500 mmr was 43000

The wrx at 28000 mmr was 30500-31000

@harrydogyo
I’ve always declined their first offer and they have always came back and offered more

Theoretically, for them to make any money they have to buy it under MMR.
