Do they inspect the car before sending the check? How do they verify if the way you described the car is in fact true? Can they pick up the car and then change their mind?
I just got an offer for my 2015 Hundai Sonata Sport, 25600 miles $13k

They sent the check the day after the carrier picked the car up. No way they had enough time to get it to Texas and inspect it. I think the carrier probably sent them pictures or something. In our case the bill of lading was done electronically and the carrier emailed me an unsigned copy that I forwarded to vroom. (Not sure if they received a signed copy or not themselves).
That’s crazy though…I guess they are still new at this
The carrier took tons of pictures at the time of pickup and they were sent to vroom along with the Bill of Lading.
They picked up the car on Wednesday … Car got to TX on Monday and listed on Tuesday.
they just picked up my car. they had lost my paperwork for about 2 weeks in the middle, but all’s well that ends well, assuming I get my check. in the meantime, I had gotten a quote from carmax which was sad, left me a bunch underwater.
I had excellent experience with Vroom earlier this year. They paid off my lease and the entire process was very transparent and smooth. Since Vroom doesn’t have their own transportation (unlike Carvana) it can take some time to find a transporter if you’re in a remote location. It was quick for me since as I am in a big metro area.
I sold my lease (Hyundai) to vroom and it went pretty well. I had zero issues with vroom, I called them every time I had questions. You are able to get a representative within in 20 seconds every time you call and they are very helpful.
The only issue I had was with the shipping company. They weren’t the most diligent in coming to pick up my vehicle. Originally scheduled for a friday and finally picked it up on Wednesday around noon. But the checks were sent out just a few hours after it was picked up.
Vroom paid off the entirety of the lease and I made 11 bucks.
And then I got a mustang
Just sold my wife’s 2017 Acura RDX To Vroom. Got quote from non-acura dealer for $21k while shift/Carvana offered $22k. Offer from Vroom was $24500. There is a rear bumper damage and the bumper most likely needs replacing. There are also some minor dents/paint chips. So I was surprised by Vroom’s offer and was skeptical. But the whole process was very smooth. Shipping company picked up the car after 2 days of completing the paperwork. Replaced it with a GLC 350e. Happy wife.
So annoyed. I accepted an offer they gave me for my wife’s 2017 Nissan Rogue and all the paperwork is being sent over tomorrow. Problem is I put down that I had two keys, which I did however now I cannot find my second key. I tore my house apart, no idea what happend to it. I wonder how much this will affect the offer I accepted.
Gotta call Nissan tommorow and find out how much a replacement key will be, anyone know a rough cost?
Replacement can be $250+. You can also call them and explain the situation. I saw a lot of cars on sale in Vroom with 1 key only. They asked me not to send 2nd key with the pickup carrier but with the paperwork through Fedex.
Yup, just called the deal. $350 plus tax, sheesh! I’ll give Vroom a call and see what they say.
Sold my leased 2017 Camry to Vroom, they quoted $500 more than Carvana. Everything worked out well; after I had accepted their offer they sent the paperwork fast, I sent in my spare key with the signed docs, then in a few days transportation company was arranged (North NJ area), came to pick up the car and I received my few hundred bucks check the next day after pick up; Toyota Financial received the payoff check at the same time but it took their inefficient system to credit my account several days. I happily avoided dispo fee and didn’t even have to deal with sales tax.
Your original leasing company cuts you the check for the difference? How soon does that take?
This month I sold both a 2017 Nissan Rogue and 2018 Grand Cherokee to VROOM and it was so easy. Carvana came in lower by 500-1000 on both vehicles So it was a no brainer. I did not check carmax because the closest to me is about 50 minutes.
From accepting the offer to picking up both vehicles was done in 3 days. They do not mess around with how fast they move, worked very well in my favor. Will definitely check with them again in the future!
Just sold a 2018 Toyota Camry XSE to Vroom. Started the process last Thursday, accepted the offer same day, packet was overnighted to me via FedEx and I received it Friday. Filled everything out, overnighted it back the same day. They received it on Saturday. I received a call on Sunday from the transportation company to pick up the car on Monday. I wasn’t available so changed to Tuesday. Positive equity check arriving in the mail today (just tracked it). So, start to finish with check in hand is 7 days but might’ve been 6 if it wasn’t for me. Very easy and pretty impressive I must say. They came in almost $2000 over Carvana so it was a no brainer. They got a great car. It was mint. I’m happy, and onto the next.
What’s the point of selling it to vroom before turn in? Is it because you’re out of miles?
Yep and no disposition fees. I was 15K over my miles but ended up getting paid $1000 to sell to Carvana.
Easier to sell then to deal with dispo fee and possible wear and tear fees. Plus the maybe some equity.
Cool cool - thanks for the input!
What ended up happening with your 1 key issues? I’m in the same boat!!
