I am suspicious of their delaying tactics … maybe another wow air in the making. One day, they will show up to take a car and next day you find the payment was never made to the bank …
More reasons to not cancel your vehicle tracking plan until the lienholder confirms payment received.
Yea I’m starting to get suspicious here. They just emailed me back and said it could take 10 days to find a carrier and another 1-2 weeks for pickup to occur! Wow.
10 days on carrier seems to be the case for me in Metro LA area. However once a carrier is found, then they are pretty quick on picking up the car.
Just need to coordinate with the carrier dispatch. I usually give them options of either picking up from home or work.
Yea I’m in the Pittsburgh area. I’m liking the whole process so far, the only negative has been the waiting. We will see how everything shakes out! Much less painless than dealing with the dealerships.
Vroom’s been having issues cutting checks for both positive equity and loan payments due to system upgrades. They expect to have checks sent out to lien holders by close of business on Friday. No issues with wiring funds though.
Hi Folks
Need some advice. I recently posted that I wanted to get rid of my Giulia and someone adviced to sell to Vroom. I got a payoff quote from Ally for 31.5 and Vroom offered 31.5 as well ( a few dollars change difference but anyways).
I started the process and Vroom and just realized that Ally had a payoff quote of 32.4K to them (as its market value , not private value). Now Vroom is asking for 990 bucks negative equity pay-off , as Ally provided different values to me and to them as private party vs market values.
Anyway to handle it? I don’t wanna pay off $1k if i can avoid it. I know a couple of people were originally interested but I thought with the Vroom quote, I wasn’t upside down at all.
Review the dealer payoff letter provided by Ally to Vroom. Make sure they didn’t include state taxes that dealer doesn’t need to pay
I netted $600 on a Mazda3 lease with 2 payments remaining. Carvana offered $400 less and Carmax $1,200 less. Whole thing took 10 calendar days, although I did call after FedExing the document to remind them I was also working with Carvana and I will release the vehicle to whomever came to pick up the car first.
If I am considering selling my car to vroom (we actually have 2 cars, one is owned outright, the other is a lease with a few payments left), you have to pay taxes on the sale I assume, right?
Wrong, vroom is a dealer so you don’t pay taxes when selling to them.
Great news! Ty
Still waiting to hear from Vroom about picking up my vehicle, accepted the offer on 3/23!
They don’t communicate well. Get a quote from Carvana and tell Vroom it’s a race to the finish.
For Vroom, did you guys send the spare key in the fedex package with the documents? That’s what the instructions say but I am hesitant. Can I just give the spare key to the guy picking it up?
I did notice my listed vehicle is now showing 1 key only.
They didn’t ask for spare key in Fedex at the time of my transaction. I am guessing the spare key is disappearing often enough they want the business office to hold on to them.
I took a picture of both keys in a ziploc bag and had the driver notate on his bill of lading that it states “2 keys and 1 book (manual)” as a CYA policy.
I like having the driver make the note. But i am still hesitant about sending the key early given the number of people reporting delays in car pickup.
Hmm vroom rep replied that they would appreciate if we send the key in fedex envelope.
That must be new, because I didn’t need to do that when I sold my car to Vroom a month and a half ago.
They did not ask me to send a spare key!
