I mean if we’re getting good offers on our used cars. I am sure the auctions are getting good bids/offers. That or vroom is just running a shitty business and will be bankrupt soon. Local dealers should just offer to match/beat any vroom/carvana offer and cut out all the middle men.
I would take the local offer if it meant an immediate transaction + walking out with a check in hand.
I’m leaning toward your latter explanation.
The world of tech startups is littered with examples of companies in “hyper growth” mode, flush with investor cash, that can ignore silly things like…profit. I wouldn’t be surprised if a number of these companies collapse when the used car market returns to normal.
So I accepted a 48k quote from Vroom. They took like 2 weeks to send me documents. I just reran the quote and it came back 49.2k. Is there anyway they can update the price on this first quote so I can just sign the documents they sent? Or do I have to go through the whole process again on the newer/higher quote. Any help would be great!
Vroom finally picked up my dad’s Sierra today, 6/28, exactly 2 months after I accepted their initial offer on 4/27. The driver took the pictures and didn’t mark down any damages, even though I disclosed most of the dings and scratched to Vroom during the appraisal process.
Like others, this car went straight from my house to the Manhiem auction lot. Now I assume I will get paid in a month or so…
Reminds me of the old saying “They lose money on every single one. But they’ll make it up on volume”
It’s going to be a mess, but there is a way. The power of attorney that you signed will not have the price or odo reading. So, I guess they can use the same document. But, Vroom has to regenerate a newer docusign for you. You need to call the customer care to resolve these. As far as I see, their system at their end is not that good. So, updating these numbers will probably take multiple calls, and you may have to repeat your request over and over again. Good luck! It’s doable. Probably worth that extra money
Yeah I called the number and he was able to update it right away so when I log in it shows the new quote $49.5k. The POA had no numbers on it so I did sign it and send it in. So far that is the only thing I’ve signed, I am assuming the e-sign stuff will have the updated number.
Sold a '19 CX-5 and got a nice check for around $3,600. Worth dealing with the idiots at Vroom. The front line customer service people just do not have the slightest clue. Every time it was just them repeating back what I said before transferring to a manager.
Well color me impressed, Vroom picked up the car on Monday, and the money was deposited in my bank account this morning. The full $7k too. Only took 2 months, but hey it all worked out in the end.
Vroom changed their mind and decided to buy leased Lexus. Previous replies were that Lexus is not allowing 3rd party sales.
They received my POA on Tuesday. Waiting on contracts to sign still nothing. On Tuesday they said 1-2 days.
car was sold to vroom on 5/21, picked up 6/11 and listed on vroom 6/21. vroom sale pending but they haven’t even sent lien payoff yet SMH
It looks like the market is stabilizing just checked Carvana and CarMax offers have dropped significantly since a couple weeks ago.
It’s a wave I think. It could come back again in few weeks.
Hello all,
Just sold my leased 2018 Range Rover velar to vroom. Husband said I was crazy and there was no way to make money off a leased suv (hello covid equity).
2018 Range Rover velar p250 S with 45,500 miles. Leased it as Dealer demo with 3000 miles, deplorable side steps added and climate convenience package added.
Payoff amount including 2 $760 monthly lease payments left =$ 34,389
Vroom offer: $41,728
Check to me: $7,339
Process was freaking painless. Submitted documents to vroom to set up sale. They got payoff amount from chase (I verified amount to make sure they weren’t charged more). Vroom mailed me docs in 2 days. Sent them back and they assigned me a carrier. Carrier came and got car within 3 days. Took a picture of car and drove it onto a hitched trailer and gave me bill of lading. Emailed bill of lading to vroom and next day, I had an email saying they had fed exed check to chase. Next day, checked my bank account and the $$$ was there. Such an easy process if anyone is having doubts.
I’m in NC if that matters to anyone. Hope this helps someone.

Not impressed so far with Vroomy filled out info they needed picture of registration ect. I provided them with lien holder info today they sent email saying they will be FedEx packet to drop Title in. They are clearly not paying attention.
They picked up my Wrangler on Wednesday. How long before payment is usually processed
Sold my 2020 Acura Tlx A spec w 18500miles for$ 31342-24164=$7 k profit and leased 2021 tlx aspec for 350 per month. Started process on june 28 and picked july 7 and check was delivered on july8. Vroom is selling $33342. Account was closed on July 9.Great Experience.
For those that have bought out the lease (due to higher payout or otherwise) and sold to vroom, did they require the car registration ? or is title enough ?
Specifically for NJ region. Thanks
