Sold one to DRIVEWAY.COM

They did not match anything. They just took your car for Driveway, which is the same Lithia. Lithia’s dealers pick up the cars that Driveway buys.

True but if the lithia dealer is near your house I found it easier to unload it on them then to go through the normal driveway process.

Maybe. I went through Driveway once and my local Lithia BMW dealer picked up my Volvo.

Just sold to Driveway.

In August of 2023, I leased a 2023 Toyota Tacoma SR V6 Double Cab 4WD from @Jrouleau426 . With almost 34,000 miles on it, I sold it to driveway.com. Here’s what I got as far as offers:

Carmax - Physical Inspection $30,000
AlGo - $30,000
KBB - $30,000
Carvana - $31,800
Driveway - $32,100

I’m very happy with the number they gave me. However, their process wasn’t as smooth as others I have dealt with before. They sent me their offer on 6/21/2025. I did their virtual inspection which should have been easy, but was a pain because there is ZERO cell service/internet service in my driveway. I don’t hear from them for a few days after I complete the virtual inspection. Finally I get someone on the phone who emails me a report stating and showing that my truck is not in the condition I reported to them. I look at the report. It shows reflections as scratches and bird poop as damage to the tailgate.

I text the guy photos of when I detailed the truck just a few weeks prior. He takes a look and tells me all is good to go. By the time I receive their UPS package of documents that have to be notarized with a wet signature it is in the afternoon of July 2. I take the docs to get them notarized after work on 7/3 and send them back, knowing they will be closed on 7/4 and not get the documents until Monday. They don’t email me until Wednesday they got all my docs and am enrolled in real time payment . They were supposed to pick my truck up Thursday. The driver never showed. I call and they rebook a driver for Saturday. He shows up an hour late, but takes my truck. I’m still waiting to get paid.

I called up earlier and asked for my money. Driveway promptly transferred it.

About to sign off on a good buyout offer but now can’t find my second key. What happens if I can’t find it by the time they come to pick up the car? This must have happened to someone selling to one of these outfits, curious what your experience has been

Whatever happened then? Lol
What vehicle was it and how was the offer and the entire process?

I bought a matching key on eBay.

It was a GM lease?

Yes it was. They do buy out GM leases as they are owner by Lithia. The dealer on my bill of sale showed Chevy in Killeen, TX. Car was picked up by Audi of Fort Lauderdale

Nice work !

Would this be the last of LT1 mania on LH?

Im afraid this was the last one probably since they stopped building these in Dec of 2023. I owned it for exactly 2 years and while I loved every single drive and will dearly miss it, it was time for it to go to a new owner who hopefully enjoys it to the max and takes good care of it.

So they make no money?

Timing is everything :index_pointing_up:
GimmetheVin sold my Defender at Manheim for around $1,500 more, and than the dealer, who bought it, sat on it for like 6 months and took a loss.
Last year Carmax sold (within a week or so) my Macan for around $1k over after shipping it to CT. But they had not listed it for a month for some reason.

Listed only 1k higher but finance and products will get them the profit plus the glorious South Florida $999 - $1299 dealer fees. They will atleast make $4k to $5k easy on it.

I agree. Thanks for the guidance again. Such less headache than the 4 week pain i dealt with GM for the lease transfer.
