Sold one to DRIVEWAY.COM

I submitted all my paperwork and inspection last Monday and I am still waiting. We will see what happens, I should list locally to see if I get a better price.

Honestly, I don’t know if I didn’t provide my email address to them but I only ever got responses when I texted them. They completed my vehicle purchase and now I’m just waiting for them to confirm a pick up date. I don’t particularly like that I’m not able to drive the vehicle, but have to maintain insurance while they arrange for the pick up. Seems like it shouldn’t be my responsibility to insure it if it’s no longer my vehicle.

What are you folks doing for your next vehicle? I wanted to either get another truck with some additional features or MDX. Not really needing a vehicle now either so I’m okay with waiting to see what happens with car prices. I know truck prices have come down recently in the used sector, but I prefer new.

I’m with you, although I’d think you could drop most coverage except for Comprehensive and save a few bucks.

Another data point on a 2019 Chevy Equinox 38,xxx miles

Carvana: $15550
Caramx: $18600
Driveway: $21550

Looks like I’m now in the que for document specialist to review. Apparently, I’m number ~1000. They think it’ll be another week before it gets to my turn.

Good luck with that. I was #16 and it took a week for them to get to me. I’ve uploaded photos through the app almost 3 weeks ago and not a peep from them ever since. They’ve clearly over committed and don’t have the bandwidth to transact timely.

On the bright side, you can drive your vehicle up to 10,000 miles from the point you accepted the offer. So you’re basically driving a car and don’t have to worry about further depreciation.

Man if I worked at driveway I’d be looking for a new job
This is the next company to go out :joy:

Well…if you read the investment thesis on Lithia (parent company) everything about it seems like a ponzi scheme. Ambitions of $50B revenue through acquisitions by 2025, and spending 90% of its cash flow on growth. I don’t think Lithia cares that Driveway is burning cash, it helps weaken their opponents/further consolidation.

In my case this was only true before the documentation package was sent.
I was told I could no longer drive the vehicle from that point forward.

Same here.

Yes, I stopped driving after I certified my mileage if that is what you are referring to. I meant accepting the offer as during the time period where they are getting the paperwork in order. Definitely agree, do not drive it after to signing the documents. Sorry for the confusion. You have 10K miles to drive from when you request an offer, but must stop after you agree/sign the offer.

So have folks been able to get the offer adjusted if the value went up while waiting for the documents?

In my case, no. After 3 weeks the offer they made me was no longer competitive and the only option they provided was to restart the process. YMMV.

So you just resent the same documents and did a new virtual inspection form the new link?

Received a phone call from my local dealer that they are ready to pick up. I replied sir, you haven’t paid me yet. I really hate how disorganized they are…lol.

After 14 days since completing the virtual inspection, I’ve been told that I’m now <100 in que for the document specialist. It was over 1000 a couple weeks ago. Let’s see how much longer this will take.

They were the highest on the '22 Wrangler 4xe in March and are highest now on '19 S60 at $34k+. A month ago Carmax was $34k and Driveway was about $600 lower. For fun, here is KBB’s instant cash offer:

The funniest thing is that KBB shows their mid-range price at $34,6xx lol

Now don’t go pull a Simone

Accepted, after LC’s guy tried really hard to be competitive.
