Sold one to DRIVEWAY.COM

My agent told me 10,000 miles.

Whoever is running the show at Driveway has got to be smoking something. Purchasing cars that they can’t sell until at least 2 months ahead and no cap on the mileage wtf

Driveway is part of Lithia which has 250 dealers. Surprised they don’t get their dealers more involved as I’m sure that’s where the cars end up.

I asked about mileage allowance from now until whenever the f they actually pick up the car and was told 250 miles.

I just got told ā€œ At this stage, no there is not but since you will write the mileage on the paperwork, once it’s signed, we ask that you discontinue use.ā€

I’ve done the online inspection and I’m waiting for paperwork from them, which I’m told could take 5-7 days or longer.

If you find a competitive offer can you back out prior to paperwork without any repercussions?

I don’t see why not, because what are they going to do? However, they already gave me the best offer and I don’t see other offers going up with time/mileage (mileage is minimal at this point.) They needed my CCAP account info, however, I’m sure they’re not paying them until after I sign the paperwork.

You sign, they pay you by ACH within 1-2 days after receiving the paperwork back, then they say ā€œup toā€ 20 days to pay off CCAP. Fom me, it was around a week or less.

They are so wierd if they are part of lithia which has Chevy dealerships - why are they barred from buying out GM leases

I am trying to figure out if I can accept an offer on my GM vehicle, then have enough time to buyout the lease and clear title, before they come looking to complete paperwork…

I wondered the same thing - but assumed that the closest Lithia dealer handled the buyout & I think (for me) it’s not a GM store.

They denied me for GM financial lease. My Camaro had a good offer of $41625. Payoff is like $39,010. MSRP was 42.1k

Anyone know how long a brand new vehicle registration takes to appear in database that Driveway is using? I purchased a vehicle last week but the license plate still shows up as my old vehicle when entering in Driveway for a quote.

Update: SOLD
TOTAL PROCESS TIME 18 DAYS
STARTED MARCH 11 TO MARCH 29.

At 23 days since accepting… Latest call said I am still in the queue to get the paperwork, starting to have second thoughts.

You and me both. It’s been 2 and a half weeks since I accepted. But they seem good for the offer and told me that I’m free to drive around until I sign the paperwork. I’ll take the free miles and they can take their time. The only loss over selling somewhere faster is insurance cost, which is minimal.

I accepted March 16 and I’m still waiting for the person to contact me about the paperwork. I reach out every few days just to make we are still on track, and they assure me that I should hear from them soon and that the offer is locked in.

I accepted around the same time and get similar answers. Hey, if the offers locked in and there is no use restriction it’s free miles for us.

I accepted offer on 30th (few days ago). I submitted Odometer/ID/docs by picture in email same day. My agent said I’m good but there is a backlog of Appointment Specialists 5-7 days for virtual inspection. Hopefully that timeframe is close… they did have the best offer for me by $2k+ (CarGurus 2nd).

Nice to see others having their offer go through… despite averaging about a month or so. I am only concerned on timing since I have a new car being delivered near 18-20th of this month to dealership. In TX, my DV plates stay with me, so worst case the car sits in driveway with no plates and place them on the new as I wait for them to pickup. Hoping the legal aspect of them taking ownership through document mailing is done by then, avoiding registration complications with my new car/same DV plate.

Aren’t you able to schedule an inspection at any local Lithia dealer?
