Sold one to CARVANA!

Ok, so after submitting my documentation to Carvana yesterday, we did a 3 way call with Chrysler Capital today who faxed over the wrong payoff. So once we sorted all that out, they approved the sale and are scheduled to pick up the car on Tues. Also, I confirmed that the purchase option fee is in fact included in the payoff.

And even though the initial offer/appraisal expired today, they honored it since I submitted my docs yesterday. So far, good experience

Sorry for the misinformation! See, Chrysler gets their money one way or another!

I had CC fax my payoff, but I am still in pending. I need to confirm it somehow. So on the phone with them now. Hoping to get this fixed today and have pick up next week!

Anyone get penalized at pickup for damage? Did they take the car and hold on to the check they brought so they could adjust the amount? Or leave the car so they could recalculate and reschedule pickup?

Carvana picked up my 2019 Subaru Outback this week. Yay. Leased it last year with zero out of pocket and $300 per month. Drove it for 13 months and put 12k miles on it. Sold it to Carvana and they handed me a check for $500 - sweet. By the way - the offer from Carvana was $4000 more than Carmax. Wow.

I suggest that you be very clear with the condition of the damage.

I was very forthright on the appraisal. My front bumper was backed into at a house party, so did not call insurance or anything.

They initially gave me $29,775 - then asked me for pics of the front bumper damage.

I submitted the photos and they came back $400 less - which I think is more than fair - Chrysler would have charged me a few grand if I returned the car like that - and any proper front bumper job would have been close to $1000.

So now my net + equity is $1600. Works for me as I had rolled $4k negative equity into this car.

I am currently on the phone with them doing a conference call to get the dealer payoff from Chrysler Capital.

UPDATE

Was on 3-way call with Carvana and Chrysler Capital - they said their fax could be there anytime from now to Wednesday the 19th - UGH BLRRRHH AHGHHRRRR -

Interestingly enough, they did not want to use a verbal payoff - to expedite the process - so we’re in limbo until Chrysler Capital gets off its ass and sends in a dealer payoff.

Carvana came and took out 2019 Jeep and handed me my check.

sweet! how much equity did you get out of the jeep?

$1117 check made out to me

Congrats! I am awaiting them to receive the payoff from Chrysler - so sad they use Fax machines in 2020.

Thanks. Honestly I’m happy when I got my ram it’s through ally and not Chrysler Capital they suck.

FYI, when we first called Ccap on Thurs, they said the fax could take 24-48 hours. I called Carvana Fri morn and they had already received the fax – but it was the wrong payoff (ie the customer payoff incl tax, and not the dealer payoff). So we called them again on a 3 way and they sent the fax again. Carvana got the fax within a few hours, approved the sale, and sent me a link to arrange pickup (for this Tues AM in NJ). I chose direct deposit for my $3,766 positive equity. They said a paper check would cost like $5

The Carvana reps seemed to indicate that Ccap can be annoying to work with lol. But she said no one is nearly as bad a Kia/Hyundai!

I sold my 2018 Accord to Carvana today. I chose to drop it off at one of their sites as it was fairly convenient from my house. The whole process took 9 minutes, and that’s because the employee didn’t have my check and had to go back inside the building to get it. Otherwise it would have been half that.

Walked away with a check for $1,900, which promptly turned into a 2020 Toyota Tundra :joy:

Interesting note: we had bad storms in the Chicago area Monday and I got a small dent on the trunk from flying debris. I freaked out and called Carvana and they had me upload a couple of pics. They put me on hold for 3 min and came back and approved everything over the phone. They didn’t bat an eye.

Other than the 2 hrs on hold, the whole thing could not have been any easier.

Carvana just picked up our 2019 330i today. Got the appraisal on Aug 10th, called twice on Thursday, first at opening time and got documents reviewed on the spot, next around 1pm to get BMW lease payoff. Stayed on the line till fax was received (10 minutes), and approved and sent pickup schedule. Today, Carvana rep called 30 minutes prior saying she was almost there. Process once arrived took maybe 15 minutes. Tow truck arrived an hour later and took the car away.

Besides the difficulty of getting in touch with someone the process went very smooth.

When you sell your lease to carvana or shify, vroom etc you are free of the $350 disposition fee? Who eats that cost?

No one “eats” it. The dispo fee is only applicable at lease turn-in. On a buyout, it’s basically not applicable.

Curious, did you have substantial positive equity on the 330i? BMWs typically aren’t good candidates. Would you be willing to share the numbers?

342xx was buyout, they offered 34880. We got a check for 580.

Anyone do a Mercedes deal with Carvana - curious of experience with MBFS

There is no disposition fee since it is being bought out.
Pretty much a win however you look at it, any extra is better than paying the captive to take the car back
