Sold one to CARVANA!

Just for the next 30 days. Haha.

@LBrito I just recently did this with USBank. I sent in my certified check which is the only payment they accept. They received it Monday and I have mail coming from them today but I doubt it’s the title. They said 3-5 days to complete payoff and then 5-10 days to receive title. My payoff included sales tax and an $880 buyout fee. If carvana quotes stay where they’ve been I should still be about $1000-1500 ahead.

Hi! Just requested carvana to contact chrysler yesterday and they spoke on the phone. Chrysler said that they both faxed and emailed the dealership quote off to carvana. Carvana still doesn’t have it as of this morning. But when i asked chrysler what the quote price was for them, they told me and it was almost exactly (~$10.00 less) what my personal pay off price was. How can i prove that they have inflated the price? I was told that dealership buy outs don’t include tax however the math clearly breaks down to include tax in carvana’s price. Is there an argument to be had?

hey! Curious how you were able to get a confirmation that the chrylser price to carvana didn’t include tax. The dealership price is on my personal buyout price is almost identical to the one sent to carvana.

They sent me this

Sometimes personal payoff amounts exclude tax. You sure your personal payoff amount includes tax in it?

The first one did include tax. Once they knew carvana was purchasing it they sent a new one with no tax.

Bought out my 17 Ram last year from US and sold to an individual. Kinda a pain but the new owner was comfortable with the bill of sale and all while I waited on the Title to arrive. I sent a cashiers check by certified overnight to their lease payoff in NY. They do charge sales tax(in SC it’s $500 max) but in some states that can be returned if the car is sold again in a certain time frame(like 30 days) or if it is sold to family etc. They were not the most helpful group and unless it’s a crazy good deal I will avoid them in the future. Almost 2 months for title to arrive and that was after countless emails and calls and no one could answer my questions.

was there a difference between that top number on yours vs carvana’s copy?
For me, My personal pay off WITH tax total is $21,065. The one sent to carvana I’m told directly by Chrysler, “doesn’t get shown a breakdown and it’s just a lump sum”. Well this lump sum figure total is $21,055. And if dealership quotes “don’t include tax” then how in the world could it be the same number as mine just off by $10???

yep! On my copy it shows the breakdown. let me see if i can paste in a picture of it.
I wasn’t allowed to receive a copy of the dealership one, just told over the phone the bottom price which was faxed already to carvana.

This is my copy:

My carvana offer went down 300 bucks because the first one expired after waiting for GM financial to send carvana the payoff. But they honored the original offer because it wasn’t my fault. You never know if the offer will go up or down. Could be risky. But it sounds like you guys risked it and got the biscuit. Lol

Well you can plug it in and not accept the new offer too. So mine has fluctuated at least a few hundred up or down since I’ve started checking. But overall since my first online offer, it’s gone up over $2k.

Stupid question but can’t find the answer. My payoff for my 2018 RAV4 is $20381. Is that including my last 9 payments or do I need to add that to it. Carvana is offering $20652
Thanks!

That includes the remaining payments.

That’s pretty nice. I’m guessing you plug in the numbers before your current one expires?

Just checked today and my account is marked as closed. Last time I checked was a few days ago, so all in all, from the day I turned the truck over to Carmax, it took about 2 weeks for Toyota to fully complete the transfer on their side and mark my account as closed

, which is what I was told to expect.

Very happy with my Carvana experience! They just picked the car up this morning.

It was a 2019 Subaru Outback 2.5i, 0 drive off and 238/month including tax for a 36m/15k lease.

Carvana offered me 23,006.00, which was 2,748.87 over the payoff and more than the sale price on my original contract.

So I basically got to drive my Outback for 15 months and >16k miles for free.

Can’t complain about that.

I had a very similar experience. About two weeks. Maybe week and a half. I checked every day lol

but you didn’t have to do anything during those two weeks right? just continue checking to see when the payment went through to the bank on their end?

Correct, no action needed on my part.
