Hello Leasehackrs,

I’m looking to transfer my lease since I had to travel out of the US for work related reasons. The details are as below

Location: Foothill Ranch, CA
Car: 2017 Buick Encore preferred
MSRP: $25595
Original Term: 24 months (lease start date: 12/15/2017)
Remaining: ~15+ months (lease end date: 12/15/2019)
Current Miles: ~7100
Lease Allotment: 22,990 miles (10k miles per year -demo with 2990 at start)
Miles left : ~15900 miles
Leased through GM Financial Services
Lease terms one pay : 1800 (120 x 15 months. I paid 3300 at start of lease)
Lease transfer fee: 595
Registration due: Aug 2019

Transfer fee kills it - brings it to ~$160 / month

I disagree. $160/mo on a $25k car for 1k miles/mo and only 15-mo commitment is a fantastic bargain. Gotta keep it in context.

Can you only transfer in SOCAL or can you transfer lease out of state?

GM allows transfer only within the same state(CA)
