I’d like to thank all the forum member for all the help, this is a second lease I have signed this year after using leasehackr. I used to use leasing companies to do the leg work but once I have received all the information regarding incentives and other deals that people have signed I wasn’t afraid to ask for lower price. Now I knew it was possible and didn’t trust the dealers when they told me that the price is unrealistic. I have started my search through Costco Auto to see what price I can get quoted over the phone. The dealer has called me the next business day, I have explained that I qualify for VPP and conquest, the quote I’ve got on a ~$48k car was $435 a month with $1,700 DAS. I have to her that I believe the price can be significantly lower, she laughed at me and told me that it’s impossible. She told me there is absolutely no room for any price adjustment and it is a great deal, “take it and run”. After that I have spent about a week talking to memebers and dealers here trying to understand what is reasonable. I have tried to lease through one of the respected brokers here, although we were not able to get in touch and he was not returing my calls. Luckily the dealer by my work was very cooperative and understood that I was a serious buyer and quoted me with good number right away.
I must mention I have previously owned 2014 Q50, which had major issue with the InTouch system, so IFS kindly issued a $500 credit for previous lessies after a Class Action lawsuit brought against them.
The selling price of the car was determined as follows: invoice $48,840 - $2,150 dealer cash - $1,500 loss to the dealer =$45,190. Although I did check NADA pricing, the invoice should have been lower.
