Silverado RST EV or Lightning Platinum - Real Ownership (Not Online Reviews)

,

Trailboss looks good, factory 2inch lift kit

Wheel and Tire is only $599 for this so I took it!

Cap is $2500 but I can always “find” a nail if needed

I remember leasing a 2019 corvette and being blown away at how cheap wheel and tire was for Chevys

But does wheel & tire cover normal wear?

Congrats, you’ve made the right choice

Any updates on the Silverado after some time behind the wheel? I am seeing more of them on the road; I’m still on the fence. These days, I like that most people don’t know my Ford truck is electric.

I have some feedback for sure.

I haven’t driven a Plat Lightning so I can’t compare the highest trim to the RST.

The Lightning feels more like a truck. The interior storage is better. It is much easier to drive. Carplay carplay carplay.

The Silverado RST looks better and is more unique. Stiffer ride but not horrific. I paid $599 for wheel and tire for obvious reasons. Sleek interior with very little storage. Pano glass roof doesnt open and gets HOT. It doesn’t come with a sunshade so you need to buy one from Chevy for $150 (or use points) and remove it when you don’t need it. LOTS of compliments. Looks just like an old Avalanche. Exterior storage is better than the Lightning. Feels big, feels heavy, and mirrors could be more truck like v SUV like. Visibility on pass side is not very good but has enough tech to make up for it. Range is incredible Makes very weird noises that are sometimes annoying if you pick up on things like this. Lightning is whisper quiet in comparison.

Overall, I am really enjoying it. The Lightning is easier to drive and does everything well IMO. The Silverado is unique and fun to own because it is more interesting and much better looking.

I am getting a lot of enjoyment out of the sheer uniqueness of the car. Lots of head turns and I am definitely the only one driving one of these in my town, maybe even 2/3 towns around me. Once in a while I run into another owner and we give each other some light flashes

Edit - the passenger mirror visibility seems to be an issue for the Hummer/RST/Denali

I guess due to the weight, they use a flat glass and not a convex glass (objects in mirror are closer than they appear).

I’m going to see if I can find the convex glass for it and switch it out

Digital rearview mirror plus the blind spot monitor solved that issue for me as I quickly learned not to trust the right side mirror…

You can always just pull a @li8625 or a @HersheySweet or maybe even a @perdana and just lane change without checking. You’re in a truck, you have the right of way at all times

Excuse me?!?!?! Last time I checked, I didn’t have multiple scuffed cars… not to mention, i get my Porsches “precrashed”
